The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) implemented the revamped Integrated Ombudsman Scheme (RB-IOS, 2026) with effect from July 1, 2026. UIDAI has introduced a new digital service that allows Aadhaar holders to update their Email ID directly through the official Aadhaar App without visiting an Aadhaar Seva Kendra. The service became available on July 1, 2026, and is offered free of charge for six months. This initiative aims to make Aadhaar services more accessible, convenient, and citizen-friendly by enabling users to update their details from anywhere. The GI tags were awarded to three traditional products from West Bengal—Chandannagar’s Jalbhara Sandesh, Janai’s Manohara, and Balagarh’s traditional wooden boats. These products are deeply connected with the cultural heritage, craftsmanship, and culinary traditions of the Hooghly district. A GI tag provides legal protection to products that have unique qualities or a reputation linked to a specific geographical region.
