The National Commission for Women (NCW) launched the 24×7 Women Helpline 14490 to provide immediate support, complaint registration, psychological counselling, and guidance for women facing violence, harassment, workplace exploitation, and other forms of abuse. The helpline is available round the clock and serves as a single point of contact for women aged 18 years and above. It also offers referral services, information about government welfare schemes, and grievance redressal support. As part of the Digital India initiative, the service aims to make assistance more accessible, improve complaint handling, and strengthen institutional support for women's safety and empowerment.
