Cricket legend Rahul Dravid has been appointed as the brand ambassador for Paradeep Phosphates Ltd. (PPL) to promote sustainable farming and balanced fertiliser use across India. Announced on 5 November 2025, this collaboration leverages Dravid’s reputation for integrity and discipline to connect with farmers and drive awareness about soil health and efficient nutrient management. Through campaigns like “Kheti Ka Game Changer” and “NPK and Organic Fertilisers Ki Winning Team,” the initiative aims to simplify agronomy using cricket-inspired themes, supporting national programmes such as the NMSA and PM-PRANAM for sustainable agriculture.

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has entered into a strategic partnership with US-based General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (GA-ASI) to jointly produce Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) for the Indian Army. Under this collaboration, L&T will act as the prime bidder for the 87 MALE RPAS programme, while GA-ASI will serve as the technology partner. This agreement strengthens India’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative by boosting indigenous defence manufacturing capabilities and promoting greater Indo-US cooperation in the aerospace and defence sectors.

Google’s Project Suncatcher is an ambitious initiative aimed at building AI data centres in orbit, powered by solar energy. The project plans to deploy satellites equipped with TPUs, solar panels, and high-speed optical communication systems to form a distributed computing network around Earth. By operating in space, these AI data centres would have uninterrupted access to solar power, eliminate the need for water-based cooling, and reduce carbon emissions. While promising a sustainable and scalable alternative to traditional data centres, Project Suncatcher still faces major engineering challenges related to communication, station-keeping, and radiation resistance in space.

Under “Operation Weed Out,” the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) in Mumbai seized 42.34 kg of high-grade hydroponic weed valued at ₹42 crore from two passengers arriving from Bangkok. The contraband was cleverly hidden inside food packets and intercepted at Mumbai Airport. This major bust came shortly after a ₹47 crore cocaine seizure, pushing the total drug recovery value beyond ₹100 crore in just three days. The operation highlights the DRI’s continued vigilance and commitment to combating sophisticated drug-smuggling networks in support of the “Nasha Mukt Bharat” initiative.

The International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict is observed annually on November 6. Established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2001 through Resolution A/RES/56/4, the day aims to highlight the often-overlooked environmental consequences of warfare. It emphasizes that the environment, frequently a silent casualty of war, must be protected even amid conflict. The observance also supports global peace, sustainability, and the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, aligning with key goals such as Climate Action, Life on Land, and Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.

India has secured the third position globally in the clean industrial project pipeline, following China and the United States. The ₹8,000 crore MoU for the 1,500 MW Panchmauli-Devalipada Pumped Storage Hydroelectric Project was signed by the Maharashtra government with GSC PSP Maha Pvt Ltd. This large-scale renewable energy initiative, located in Dhule and Nandurbar districts, aims to generate 2,500 jobs and ₹1,100 crore annual revenue. Maharashtra became the first Indian state to sign a formal agreement with Elon Musk’s Starlink, a SpaceX initiative, to deliver satellite-based internet across remote and underserved areas. Through this partnership, Starlink’s low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellite technology will provide high-speed, low-latency internet to government institutions, rural and tribal communities, and aspirational districts such as Gadchiroli, Nandurbar, Washim, and Dharashiv. The initiative supports the state’s “Digital Maharashtra” mission by enhancing e-governance, telemedicine, online education, and disaster response systems while strengthening connectivity in regions with limited terrestrial infrastructure.
