The fourth phase of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY-IV) was launched in the Rayagada district, which is located in the state of Odisha. This initiative is part of a broader rural development strategy aimed at improving infrastructure and connectivity in remote and hilly regions. The project includes the construction of hundreds of new roads covering extensive distances to link previously unconnected areas. In addition to road development, financial allocations were made for housing, employment generation, and watershed management. These efforts are aligned with the state’s long-term development vision to enhance rural livelihoods and infrastructure.

Telangana introduced a significant reform in May 2026 by mandating a centralised procurement system for distributing educational materials in government schools. This initiative aims to ensure timely delivery and maintain uniform quality across all departments, including those serving backward classes, minorities, tribal communities, and scheduled castes. The event focused on enhancing India’s cyber audit ecosystem and addressed emerging challenges in areas such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, IoT, and post-quantum cryptography. Hosted at the BITS Pilani K. K. Birla Goa Campus, it brought together over 500 delegates and featured numerous technical presentations. The conference also introduced new tools and certification programs aimed at strengthening cybersecurity practices, particularly for financial institutions and critical infrastructure sectors.

Chhattisgarh introduced the ‘e-Shram Saathi’ mobile application as part of its effort to digitally empower workers and improve access to employment opportunities and welfare schemes. The initiative aims to streamline communication between labourers and government services, ensuring better outreach and efficiency. With a substantial number of workers already registered under welfare boards, the app enhances transparency and accessibility. It also aligns with broader labour reforms and digital governance goals in India. By integrating multiple schemes and services into a single platform, the state seeks to improve worker welfare, safety awareness, and overall livelihood conditions.

Maharashtra introduced an ambitious Artificial Intelligence Policy in 2026 aimed at boosting technological growth and employment generation. The policy outlines a significant financial investment and focuses on establishing AI Excellence Centres and Innovation Cities to foster research and development. It also integrates sustainability through green energy initiatives under the MAJESTIC scheme, supported by global financial institutions. Additionally, environmental goals such as large-scale tree plantations are included to balance development with ecological responsibility. This initiative highlights the state’s commitment to becoming a leading hub for AI innovation and sustainable technological advancement in India.
