Varya is India’s first indigenous distilled video AI model, launched by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) with support from the IndiaAI Mission. Developed by Avataar.ai, the model uses an advanced distillation technique that significantly reduces video generation cycles from 50 steps to just 4 steps, improving efficiency and lowering costs. It supports both Text-to-Video and Image-to-Video generation and is designed to create culturally relevant content reflecting Indian festivals, clothing, food, and regional diversity. The technology is expected to benefit sectors such as education, e-commerce, and MSMEs by enabling affordable and scalable digital content creation.

Dinesh Trivedi assumed charge as India’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh after arriving in Dhaka on June 12, 2026.
