Advanced Quantum and Artificial Intelligence laboratories were announced at MNIT Jaipur on June 11, 2026, as part of India's efforts to strengthen capabilities in emerging technologies. The initiative includes a Quantum Computing Lab focused on indigenous development of Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), quantum simulation, and quantum sensing technologies. The project aims to enhance national security and support advancements in post-quantum cryptography. In addition, AI and Makers Labs were established to promote research, innovation, and hands-on learning in areas such as artificial intelligence, embedded systems, sensors, and electronics. The initiative aligns with India's broader goals of technological self-reliance and semiconductor ecosystem development.
