According to me, it is .012 * 100 = 1.2, dry wt = 1.54 * 1.2 = 1.848, 1.848 ÷ 7 = .264.

According to this answer, they taking 60% extra => 1.2 * 60/100 = 0.274.

Volume of mortar required= 100*.12 = 1.2.
Total 60% of volume increases for dry mortar
1.2+ (.60* 1.2)= 1.92.
Now volume of cement = 1/7 * 1.92= 0.2743.
