If 6th March, 2005 is Monday, what was the day of the week on 6th March, 2004?
Answer: Option
Explanation:
The year 2004 is a leap year. So, it has 2 odd days.
But, Feb 2004 not included because we are calculating from March 2004 to March 2005. So it has 1 odd day only.
The day on 6th March, 2005 will be 1 day beyond the day on 6th March, 2004.
Given that, 6th March, 2005 is Monday.
6th March, 2004 is Sunday (1 day before to 6th March, 2005).

Any given year is divisible by the number 4 is a leap year, pretty simple.
For e.g 2008/4 = 502 (NO REMAINDER).
2007/4 = 501.75 (REMAINDER).
Just do observe it's too simple.

Yes, the correct answer is Saturday.
Assume that, if 6th March 2004 is Saturday then only 6th March 2005 will be Monday. 2004 is a leap year so it adds 2 more days.

2004 year last two digit is less than 100.
Add 100 in last digit 104 gives than 104/4 gives 26.
Then 104+26+3+6=139/7=rem (6) so the day will be Saturday.

When we move from a leap year to a general year.
There is a increase of 2 days.
Similarly if 6 march 2005 was Monday then 6 march 2004 has to be Saturday.

The answer provided here is wrong. Correct answer is SATURDAY as 2004 is a leap year. It has 2 odd days. So each date will be forward by 2 weekdays.

Even though feb 2004 was not included it should be 2 odd days because from previous calculations it is not considered yet the correct answer.

No, Sunday is correct answer because in question they give 6th march 2005 is Monday. So we start from Mon as 0, Tues as 1,.. Sun as 6.

Why didn't we add odd days of 2005.
31+28+6/7=2 odd days.
And there is 1 odd day of 2004.
So there are 3 odd days.
What to do ?
31+28+6/7=2 odd days.
And there is 1 odd day of 2004.
So there are 3 odd days.
What to do ?

Sunday since they assumed 6th March 2005 as Monday and not Sunday so the day will be increased by 1 hence 1 + Saturday = Sunday.
