If 6th March, 2005 is Monday, what was the day of the week on 6th March, 2004?
Sunday
Saturday
Tuesday
Wednesday
Answer: Option
Explanation:

The year 2004 is a leap year. So, it has 2 odd days.

But, Feb 2004 not included because we are calculating from March 2004 to March 2005. So it has 1 odd day only.

The day on 6th March, 2005 will be 1 day beyond the day on 6th March, 2004.

Given that, 6th March, 2005 is Monday.

6th March, 2004 is Sunday (1 day before to 6th March, 2005).

Is this correct? Even though Feb is not included, 2004 is a leap year. So the answer should be Saturday.

The given answer is Correct.

The given data is 'If 6th March, 2005 is Monday' - here we have to consider it as Monday (but actually 6th March, 2005 is Sunday).

As per the calculation 6th March, 2004 is one before to 6th March 2005.

Therefore, one day before to 'Monday' is 'Sunday'.

Note: Please do not check the with the original calendar to find the day of 6th March, 2004. Because the given data is an assumption.

Request: Please think twice before post your doubts here.

Hope you are all understand it well. Have a nice day!

In this 6 mar 2004 - 6 mar 2005 the answer is (-1). So the answer is one day before i.e. Monday before is 'Sunday'.

If you want check calender. your logic was correct for normal years but 2004 is leap year so (-2) need to be done. other best way of solving is

2004 = 2000+3years+march 6
= (0 odd days)+(3 odd days)+(jan(3odd days)+feb(1odd day as it is leapyear)+(march 6=60dddays))
=3+3+1+6
=13(7+6)
=6 odd days(6 means sat)

Its correct that one extra odd day of 2004 (leap year) will not be included means we will take 365 days but from 6th march 2004 to 6th march 2005 is 1 year one day (366 days) (ex. 1st january to 31st december = 1 year but 1st jan to 1st jan = 1 year 1 day).

Answer of 6/3/2004 as sunday is wrong becoz 1/2/2004 was sunday and 2004 was a leap year so leap yr has 29 days so 29/2/2004 was a sunday so 1/3/2004 will be a monday so 6/3/2004 will be saturday and 6/3/2005 will be sunday becoz31/1/2005 will be monday and1/2/2005 will be tuesday since 2005 is not a leap yr so 1/3/2005will be tuesday so 6/3/2005 will be a Sunday.

6th march 2005 is Monday.
6th march 2004=?

6th march has common so we can leave this.

But we have to calculate 2005.

From 2005 we have to collect 5 and divided by 4.
Because after 4 year we get leap year.
So 5/4=1.
So, we can get 5-1=4.

For 2004 we have to calculate same for this.
4/4=1.
4-1=3.

After that we have to add 4+3=7.
7/7 because 7 days in a week=1.

1 means Sunday.

Really its very simple...if u think in dis way...
6th march 2005 is monday.
we need find what is the day in 2004 march 6th??
2004 is leap year so no of odd days is 2.but we need to calculate after march not feb. so only one odd day.
if 2004 march is xth day then 2005 march is monday.
so x+1 day is monday...then xth day will we sunday...

i hope u got d point...
