If 6th March, 2005 is Monday, what was the day of the week on 6th March, 2004?
Answer: Option
Explanation:
The year 2004 is a leap year. So, it has 2 odd days.
But, Feb 2004 not included because we are calculating from March 2004 to March 2005. So it has 1 odd day only.
The day on 6th March, 2005 will be 1 day beyond the day on 6th March, 2004.
Given that, 6th March, 2005 is Monday.
6th March, 2004 is Sunday (1 day before to 6th March, 2005).

Why didn't we add odd days of 2005.
31+28+6/7=2 odd days.
And there is 1 odd day of 2004.
So there are 3 odd days.
What to do ?
31+28+6/7=2 odd days.
And there is 1 odd day of 2004.
So there are 3 odd days.
What to do ?

The answer provided here is wrong. Correct answer is SATURDAY as 2004 is a leap year. It has 2 odd days. So each date will be forward by 2 weekdays.

As cover a year i.e 365 days.
365/7 52 week and 1 day remaining.
So we can say before 1 day from monday i.e Sunday.

It is so easy.
One year less from March 2004 to March 2005. It is not including Fab 2004. So it is one year mean 1 odd day. 6 March 2005 is Monday so 6 March 2004 will be Sunday.

See, because we have to count from 6th march to 6th march, (2004 is leap year just because of Feb so the extra one day is not included).
So we have to count between 1 year means 365 days.
So 365/7 = 52 as qt and 1 as remainder so basically we have to move back one day from the given day which is Sunday.

Solve - 6th march 2004.
March = 25/4 = 1
April = 30/4 = 2
May = 31/4 = 3
June = 30/4 = 2
July = 31/4 = 3
August = 31/4 = 3
September = 30/4 = 2
October = 31/4 = 3
November = 30/4 = 2
December = 31/4 = 3
6th March = 2005
January = 31/4 = 3
February = 28/4 = 0
6 day consider or march
=1+2+3+2=8(8-7=1), 1+3+3=7(7-7=0), 0+2+3+2=7, (7-7=0), 0+3+3+2=8, (8-7=1) Now we add 6 days of march 2005.
6+1 = 7(7-7 = 0) 0 Means Sunday.
March = 25/4 = 1
April = 30/4 = 2
May = 31/4 = 3
June = 30/4 = 2
July = 31/4 = 3
August = 31/4 = 3
September = 30/4 = 2
October = 31/4 = 3
November = 30/4 = 2
December = 31/4 = 3
6th March = 2005
January = 31/4 = 3
February = 28/4 = 0
6 day consider or march
=1+2+3+2=8(8-7=1), 1+3+3=7(7-7=0), 0+2+3+2=7, (7-7=0), 0+3+3+2=8, (8-7=1) Now we add 6 days of march 2005.
6+1 = 7(7-7 = 0) 0 Means Sunday.

If see the year 2004 is a leap year and it has 2 odd day but calculation is need from 6th March 2004 so February month is left.
so odd days calculation from 6th March 2004 to 6th March 2005=(25+30+31+30+31+31+30+31+30+31+31+28+6)=365/7=1 odd days.
So the day on 6th March 2005 is 1 day beyond the day on 6th March 2004.
But, 6th March 2005 being Monday.
6th March 2004 was Sunday.
so odd days calculation from 6th March 2004 to 6th March 2005=(25+30+31+30+31+31+30+31+30+31+31+28+6)=365/7=1 odd days.
So the day on 6th March 2005 is 1 day beyond the day on 6th March 2004.
But, 6th March 2005 being Monday.
6th March 2004 was Sunday.

1st of all need to see year ie. , leap year or non leap year, if we want to find before year go back the no.of odd days day ie., 2005 non leap year only 1 odd day so our answer is "Sunday".
