Note we have a formula => Runrate*Overs = Run Scored.

1st > we have given Runrate and overs, so we are calculating the run scored.

ie. 3.2*10 = ? (Run Scored) we get Run scored = 32.

2nd > we have to find the run scored in the remaining 40 overs so we subtract the run scored in the first 10 over from the Total score.

i.e. 282-32=250.

Now we have run scored=250 and overs=40, so we find will find the run rate.

i.e. Runrate*Overs = Run Scored.

Runrate*40 = 250.

Answer==> Runrate = 6.25.

First we calculate 10 overs score using run rate (3.2).

= 10*3.2 = 32 runs.

Target = 282.

We need 250 runs in 40 overs (282-32).

So, 250/40 = 6.25.

Let the run in 5th match be x.

Total runs scored in 4 matches = 80*4 = 320.

Now, when 320 added with x avg becomes 84 (as per question).

= (320+x)/5 = 84.

x = 100.

Answer check: (320+100)/5 = 84.

Ten over run rate is 3.2

So 10*3.2= 32.

Then Target 282-32 = 250.

Remaining over is 40.

250/40= 6.25 answer.

@Ms. Shobhita.

1 over for 6 balls should be getting 1run for every ball is 6 runs for 6 balls. 1 over 6run rate. 10 overs 32 runs. Run rate was 3.25.

32 runs subtracted for target run 282. Remain 250. Balance 40 overs. Every ball get one run reach in 240. Answer is 6.25.

What is the formula of this?

It's simple.

He scored 32 runs in 10 overs (Run rate (3.2)* Over (10)=32).

Remaining Score 282-32 = 250 Runs.

Again, Run Rate* Over = Score.

Run Rate = Score/ Over.
= 250/40
= 6.25

We know run rate = average.

Sum of scores in 10 overs/10 = 3.2 => sum = 32.

Sum of scores in 40 overs / 40 = ?

Already we got 32 runs in 10 overs so we have to get 250 runs.

From options 40*6.25 = 250, So it should be the answer.
