32 rolls
54 rolls
108 rolls
120 rolls
Answer: Option
Explanation:

Number of cuts made to cut a roll into 10 pieces = 9.

The above answer wrong. Correct answer is 108 rolls.

How? can you explain ?

Answer is 120 itself.

In a roll of fabric we need to make only 9 cuts to obtain 10 pieces.

This question is not logically good. Can I cut two pieces together?

Hi Mister said:   1 decade ago
You do not need to cut the last piece because you cut it into two pieces when you cut the second to last one.

All rolls having equal length. 9 cuts are required to get 10 pieces in each roll.Hence, (45*24)/9 =120

Number of cuts in 1min = 45.

Number of cuts in 24min = 45*24.

Number of rolls cut in 24 min = (45*24) /9.

(as each roll needs 9 cuts to get 10 pieces).

To cut 1 roll, we need( 9cuts/(45 cuts/min))= (1/5 min)
in 1/5 min, we can cut 1 roll,
in 1 min, we cn cut 5 rolls,
in 24 min, we can cut 24*5 =120 rolls.

Logically nothing is applied about the 10 cuts being 9 pieces. The problem does not state that.

Step1 : 1 Role = 10 Pieces.
Step2 : Rate of Cut = 45 Pieces Per Min ==> 90 pieces per 2 min ==>90 Pieces = 9 roles (from step 1).

So, in 2 min he can cut 9 roles according to this ==> in 24 min= (2 * 12 min = 9 * 12 roles) ==> 24 min = 108 Roles.
