So,
10 pieces = 45 cuts,
1 pieces = 45/10 = 4.5 cuts.

So,
1 minute = 4.5 c.
24 minute = (4.5*24) = 108.

4.5*24 =108 it is the right answer.

I am not getting the answer.

How do we get 9 cuts for a roll? Please explain.

One roll is being cut into 10 pieces.
Rate of cutting is "45 cuts" per minute.

Now to cut a roll into 10 pieces "9 cuts" are to be made.
Which means one roll needs 9 cuts to be made into 10 pieces (hope it's clear).

Now, if 45 cuts are made, think of how many rolls have been cut (that's right) 5 rolls.
You can verify by dividing 45 cuts by 9 cuts (because each roll needs 9 cuts to be made into 10 pieces which give 5 rolls) or multiply 9 cuts by 5 rolls which will give 45 cuts a minute (which is the cutting rate).

Now if 5 rolls are cut in a minute,
In 24 mins- 24*5= 120 rolls will be cut.

Simply to cut the roll into 10 pieces tailor have to cot 9 times so,
45/9= 5.
5*24=120.

When he cut 10 pieces of equal length he will cut 9 pieces last piece will already be of the same length.

That is why 9 cuts for a roll, Just like if you want to divide a box into 10 equal parts you will draw 9 lines and get 10 boxes.
