It is the people of the country, who make the country developed. We are not living in that ancient period where we are dependent only on leaders for showing us the way. We are educated and aware enough to express our views on a platform. So if we want a change in our political system we have to enter into it.
Therefore saying that dictatorship will end our problems is not right. Dictatorship has never been good as we can see from past experience. It can be good only for a particular section of a society not for a nation as a whole. And especially for India which is so diverse and a single person cannot understand the diversified problems of people.
Many of my friends gave an example of Adolf Hitler but does we really want to be ruled by such leader who as racist views against other communities. I think we should not say blindly that dictatorship is good.
In my opinion, this dictatorship is not the feasible option for India.

Greetings Guys.
I really think that a country like India that possess a lot of diversity in every aspect should go in hands of patriotic and straightforward dictator for a particular period. The current situation is where everyone is having a lot of freedom in different terms and they are misusing it in exploiting other social and religious issues. People with their vibrant thoughts are actually taking the priorities of misguiding others and taking them on an irregular path of rebellion and at last controversies. The main problem that needs serious attention is not the economy or power but is religious diversity and those people who are promoting it for their penny sake. Democracy is a really good option when the freedom is concerned but in the present scene, our country seriously needs an objective single men to rule who should think above religion and can sort the basic issues that are going on in the area after which the secondary issues like economy and trade can be corrected.

In my Opinion there is no needs a dictatorship for India because one single person how can manage 1. 5 billion population. So democracy is much better than dictatorship. We only needs to change the mindset of people, mindset of society. We have to understand our duty and should try to make better system not destroy the system. We need to know our rights. We are responsible for corruption, we make corrupt them because we doesn't know our right. So for seeing a better India first we have to be better otherwise any govt, any system will not work smoothly.

Its Good to have such discussions. But friends do notice 1 point here. It is the same "we" going to elect the person for both the cases 1) Dictatorship 2) Democracy.
Dictatorship could be more efficient one but on the other hand democracy plays a key role.
Dictatorship will lead to "progress" of country but Democracy leads to "Better" country.
Progress and Better which mean the same again ! if actually concentrate. Becoming Puppets to the political leaders is in our hands. As it is "we" who are electing them. I think what India needs is not whether it is democratic\autocratic? Rather it could be better if there exits mutual understanding between each which is almost a difficult thing to implement. First change "U" then say "society" because ultimately "Society is again U"!we can see Better India or autocratic India only when 1) Every child to old is EDUCATED with EMPLOYMENT 2) Eliminating the POVERTY which we are studying from LKG to 10 in schools but yet no one analyse it!
3) Finally stop practicing VIOLENT METHODS. Not necessary to mention as every know what they do!

Yes! India definitely needs dictatorship because a country's development need suggestions but not advices of each individual. There will always be pros and cons of each decision taken. For instance why do we have elections at each level? to elect at area level then at state level then at country level. Electing one politician has become a tug of war right inside the country which literally weakens the strength of our country, instead if we have one dictator or rather a leader to rule but with that too, many citizens wouldn't agree so an alternative to that might be in such a way that a citizen do not lose his/her list of freedom but still they are bound to laws of country which might be decided by the dictator. Talking about the dictator might be elected directly instead of electing between two political parties. If the dictator works with a wrong motif for a country then it is possible, that individual can be dethroned and can be considered the least respected citizen. So the idea is to keep India under part Dictatorship.

Hello friends,
Nowadays Indians need a luxurious life. Everybody are running behind money. And also they become lazy and don't want to wait for getting anything. They need everything to be instant. This leads to corruption. If everyone in India realize that then we can change our country. Moreover we need a good leader rather than a dictator. If a leader is good then automatically he/she can change the society.

No doubt, dictatorship is more efficient type of Government. The dictator is the master of his own will. His orders are the final orders. No one can dare refuse to carry them out. When a nation is down crushed a dictator certainly helps it is rising high. Through heavy penalties and punishments, he frees the country of all corruption. In war-time, no other Government is so efficient as dictatorship.
But dictatorship cannot last long. It is very difficult to get a good successor to a dictator. Einstein, the famous scientist, one said, "Dictators of genius are succeeded by scoundrels. " Germany became a terror to the world in the days of Hitler. Turkey was revolutionized and modernized by Mustafa Kamal Pasha. But after them, their countries again fell in darkness. Further, as the danger of going on a wrong path. There is no check on his powers. People cannot critics him or change the Government through constitutional means. They cannot express their views freely or pass their life in the way they think best. They have no rights. They must obey the dictator blindly. Man is thus reduced to the level of a dumb animal.
Hence dictatorship can't be the solution of India. We don't need to change the form of the Government but we need to reform it.

I think India needs a benevolent and patriotic dictator for a 15 year period. One who can stop the propaganda run by each media outlets in India which gives rise to communal tension in our society. I believe the press shouldn't be allowed to run their propaganda in defaming a particular religion or culture. Development, economy and foreign relation should be the issues emphasised in our country. India needs a dictator who can keep the people of our country united. Nationalism should be enforced and one should always view themselves as an Indian before anything.
Only when we the people of India are united and proud of our country, we can take India to New heights and I believe this is not possible in a democracy run by corrupt politicians and a worthless opposition.

I do not feel that abandoning the idea of democracy is the best way to deal with its apparent failure as a system of governance for the nation. I understand the frustration with the current system which makes one look to an all powerful leader unbound by the opinions of others. However, it is a dangerous delusion to think that a dictator would only work for the good of the people. What makes democracy a long and arduous process is the very same one which makes it a reliable and accurate process of decision-making.
Democracy is by the people, of the people and for the people. It is the best guarantee of equality. Those disappointed by the track record of democracy only need to look at the track record of dictatorships. Hitler was a dictator. Stalin was a dictator. The dissatisfaction of the people in dictatorships ultimately boils over in the form of violent revolutions.
In theory, dictatorships sound like a more efficient way of governance. However, the idea doesn't hold water in practice due to the very human nature of any leader. The power and absolute subservience of the citizens in a dictatorship make it possible for the dictator to think he can get away with anything. Quite simply, there is no way to ensure accountability of a dictator. That is why democracy, despite all its faults is our best bet at a better nation.

In my point of view India don't need dictatorship although we know that India is facing many problems like unemployment, poverty and religious fights but that doesn't mean that dictatorship can alone solve theses problems.
Dictatorship may worsen these problems because as the people's choose their leaders which do wrong jobs we may choose wrong dictator who can directly control all the country and can do anything for his benefits. What we need is democracy with clear agenda of choosing the right people who has proved his ability by doing some right jobs in his life and on which we can trust that leaders who we know will definitely work for the development and growth of the country.
