I don't believe dictatorship is the solution and I also don't believe that India has seen zero development since independence if anything the mindset of the people have changed, the people during independence were fed up with the British all of them wanted freedom and were ready to fight to death for it because their actions would impact the future generations which led to relatively rapid development in the beginning when people still had that spirit and dedicated their life to improvement of the country. But after a few generations this spirit kinda died off no one wants to go through all this trouble just so they can make a better country for their children. In fact a lot people want their children to get out of India and get a good job somewhere else in a developed country. Everyone likes to complain about the state of India but no one wants fix it themselves. There are not many people left like the first prime ministers of India. The people now just want to improve their own life and the easy way is to either move to more developed area or country. No one wants to struggle for the countries improvement just few complains about the situation. India needs citizens who are united and hustle for the betterment of the country. After all the people of a country is what makes it developed or poor if India is in a third world country it's simply because of the people. Democracy is the government of people, if the people don't want to govern well maybe they deserve to live a shit life.

Indians do not live the present times, they do not think future. Indians live only in the Past tense.

We are divided by languages, history and race. We nurture the separatism in our states, our cities, our lanes and in our hearts. We talk about kings, Nababs, Zagirdars and Zamindars.

Current democratic India is a ticking time bomb of population explosion, changed demography, hunger-water shortage, civil wars and chronic capitalism.

History is bunk! Burn all the history books. Boycott the elections- we do not want all these democratic farce & shams under which we suffered since independence! If we look into the future, it looks bleak. We need to face the future and change it today.

What India needs is Dictator to have will power of changing the things with hard decisions. But such idea looks utopian today in our country. Dictator like Singapore PM Li Kuan, dictator like Stalin, dictator like Fidel Castro.

But as long as we live in the past it cannot be done. We need to change and forget our past and look towards future. If people strongly desire it, a leadership will automatically emerge.

Loksabha elections 2014 have shown the people's strong will. But as long as it is democratic frame work nothing will work, because democracy and market driven economy is not going to deliver to last man standing.

If we need real state which can deliver then we should change, Believe in future and be ready for sacrifice.

Hello friends,

If we look back in history, the very first name comes in our mind is of Adolf Hitler, a German solider whose patriotism was misconstrued with dictatorship. It was he who lead his people for the need of country in availing prosperity, liberty and a strong nation. And today we can easily find how Germany has big impact not only in European union but also in the world in the field of science & technology, economics & politics. It does not mean practicing dictatorship by country's leader always have the same output only if it involves the idea of "country first".

In present scenario, we are racing to consolidate our self in the globe in every domain. Our markets are rising, Department of Science and Technology are being recognized across the globe, we are inching towards in developing a better, salubrious and safe place for our people, but in Snail's place as we vision to achieve "a developed nation" title only in this decade. A dictatorship attitude may enforce others to make the all possible work done in time remain either in fear or loyalty.

If the whole idea is channelized effectively, definitely, it will not only gear up all our on going objectives but also help us to achieve it in stipulated time. It is need of hour. It can better understand by taking example of china whom we are lagging behind even getting independence three years early.

Dictatorship is on its own is very bad for any nation, if history has taught us anything about dictatorship then its the bad consequences that it faces because of it. What India needs is both dictatorship and democracy because in a democratic nation people lives happily. Dictatorship should be applies in areas like.

CLEANLINESS - People not following cleanliness should be penalized compulsorily. If this rule is followed then roads will be clean. Regular diseases will be decreased caused by Bactria and other agents caused by not following cleanliness.

PROHIBITION ON BRIBE - Whichever sector may it be public or private. Taking and giving of bribe should be compulsorily prohibited anyone not following this rule should be sent to prison for at least a month. Among both the parties giver/receiver.

PENALTY ON DELAY - May it be private sector or government sector in either case they should be penalized if work is not done in given time if thus rule is followed there would not come any chance of bribe, because people pay bribe to speed up the system and understanding people urgency they deliberately complete task late so that they can score bribe.

In such a way if dictatorship is used in such areas a lot of development could be brought in. Because people would only follow when they are penalized under dictatorship otherwise they would pay bribe and speed up the system.

Hello everyone.

I would agree with Ritika. But taking the fact of politics in India passing of a bill is done on the basis of vote banks but not for well being of all. We Indians must love all other Indians. The type of government doesn't really affect the country its the public which does. If we ask why is USA so much developed, its just because they love each and every citizen of theirs, but in India its all majority wins principle.

And we can take the example of reservation, Dr. Ambedkar gave the proposal of reservation only for a decade but as our politicians learnt that reservation is a bank of votes from the reserved people they won't respect the proposal of Dr. Ambedkar.

Dictatorship is basically some activist who leads a group of people fed up of corrupt government and go against it. Indian army is not as corrupt as politicians and hence if the army overthrows the Indian democracy we could have disciplined society. But we mustn't neglect the fact of restrictions imposed upon us. If we consider developed democracy, even if 1 of its citizen even may he/she be poor is protected if in danger.

So eventually I would say that well being of the nation begins at home if everyone who reads this even follows what's India's pledge will give certain contribution in India's well being. I hope one day we would be the BEST! I love India! And Must all do!

I do not feel that abandoning the idea of democracy is the best way to deal with its apparent failure as a system of governance for the nation. I understand the frustration with the current system which makes one look to an all powerful leader unbound by the opinions of others. However, it is a dangerous delusion to think that a dictator would only work for the good of the people. What makes democracy a long and arduous process is the very same one which makes it a reliable and accurate process of decision-making.

Democracy is by the people, of the people and for the people. It is the best guarantee of equality. Those disappointed by the track record of democracy only need to look at the track record of dictatorships. Hitler was a dictator. Stalin was a dictator. The dissatisfaction of the people in dictatorships ultimately boils over in the form of violent revolutions.

In theory, dictatorships sound like a more efficient way of governance. However, the idea doesn't hold water in practice due to the very human nature of any leader. The power and absolute subservience of the citizens in a dictatorship make it possible for the dictator to think he can get away with anything. Quite simply, there is no way to ensure accountability of a dictator. That is why democracy, despite all its faults is our best bet at a better nation.

Hello friends.

Does India needs the dictatorship? I say it need not have any changes in way of ruling. The country needs is the change of mindset of people Why I was saying this. Democracy means rule by the people. We are indirectly involved thats it. We are responsible for the loss of moral values in the society at times. Let us go with few examples.

1. Suppose if we want to go to a movie and if there are no tickets we try to get them in black market. Or get a piracy CD to watch the film. We are indirectly encouraging the Piracy market and the black market.

2. No one wants to wait. Everyone wants to get their work get completed as soon as possible. So they try approaching by giving bribes.

3. Then coming to the illiterate. They take the money and vote for a specific party. Few people with caste and religion feeling they elect a wrong person.

Keep all those aside. If we try keeping ourselves and our surroundings. Clean we need not spend lots of money to clean that waste and implement plans like swatch Bharat and collect swach cess for it. Its like we feel why should I care if its not affecting me. But the thing we are the one who are suffering again. Therefore its highly enough if every one of us develops wisdom before doing any action. Sorry Friends if I have hurt anyone's feelings.

Thank you.

No doubt, dictatorship is more efficient type of Government. The dictator is the master of his own will. His orders are the final orders. No one can dare refuse to carry them out. When a nation is down crushed a dictator certainly helps it is rising high. Through heavy penalties and punishments, he frees the country of all corruption. In war-time, no other Government is so efficient as dictatorship.

But dictatorship cannot last long. It is very difficult to get a good successor to a dictator. Einstein, the famous scientist, one said, "Dictators of genius are succeeded by scoundrels. " Germany became a terror to the world in the days of Hitler. Turkey was revolutionized and modernized by Mustafa Kamal Pasha. But after them, their countries again fell in darkness. Further, as the danger of going on a wrong path. There is no check on his powers. People cannot critics him or change the Government through constitutional means. They cannot express their views freely or pass their life in the way they think best. They have no rights. They must obey the dictator blindly. Man is thus reduced to the level of a dumb animal.

Hence dictatorship can't be the solution of India. We don't need to change the form of the Government but we need to reform it.

India is a democratic country. Democracy means where there are more than one political party and the people of the country has right to elect their party. Dictatorship is where there is only man ruling the entire country. I would like to compare democracy and dictatorship with two economic terms competitive market and monopoly market respectively.

Competitive market is where there is more than one seller and monopoly is where there is only one seller in the market. The competition in the market among sellers help in reducing the price which benefits the consumers. Just like that in democratic country competition among these political parties definitely benefits the people of the country as the ruling party knows that if it does not serve the people they will not vote for it.

In monopoly as there is only one seller in the market it has total control over the price and it can increase the price according to its will which is not good for the consumers. Similarly if there is a dictatorship in the country the ruler or the ruling party knows that they can do whatever they feel like and nobody can challenge him as it used to happen during the ancient times where the king used to rule the entire kingdom. So I am against dictatorship.

First, I want to clear that I love the amazing place people call India. I don't have any grudge against it, the only reason I ever thought about this, is because of the political system which has plague the nation. Looking only from growth prespective at the time of our Independence both India and China had similar gdp. Aussuming that the condition we're same for growth, China is approx 10-20 times ahead of us. Taking in consideration that India has been involved in multiple wars with other nation and within our own nation. It should have grown to 4-5 times when compared to China. But the reality is entirely different the government hasn't even able to fully modernize the nation and reachability through road has also been a big question mark. I am baffled when I see old people who were so committed to change the nation and people now who just want to make money no matter how many lives they ruin.

I know I am small and I may not know the other side of the coin or even both the sides. But I am open to suggestions and only to constructive feedback.

PS: I know that Chinese dictatorship is not that good as most of the bad news gets suppressed due the control and censorship and most of the people who resist it get wacked.
