Should Hindi be the official language of India?

As per my opinion a single language can not be official language for a country like India where multiple languages are being speak. One more factor is that in many states or cities people even understand Hindi. Besides this now days Indian market has emphal numbers of Foreign companies where English is the only language even in many govt offices we use English only. So A single language can not play well.

Question is not just about which language should NL, actually are we on the right path to bbecoming a developed country. The answer is no.

First of all, Indian constitutional structure is wrong we have 29 different states which are equivalent to 29 different countries similar to countries in the European Union. Most of the EU countries are developed but India even after 70 years of independence still underdeveloped country. Reasons are we could not follow capitalism properly like all developed countries have followed or currently following. We are the only country which directly jumped to service sector from agriculture we have almost skipped manufacturing step due to this most jobs we have are either related to service sector or agriculture when it comes to manufacturing of good products we import them from other countries because of this we have big trade deficit. Now if we want to solve this issue n become manufacturing major we have give good quality industry oriented practical education in this case which language will we choose for education English or Hindi as we know AFA English is concerned our large mass really can't do critical thinking in English as most of our mass belongs to rural. N for Hindi only northern states are comfortable others are not so both choices are wrong whole nation education system. If we really want to follow capitalism in right manner we must get quality technical education in our mother tongue this applies to every state of India, that is what is done Japan, Korea, Germany, France, UK, China. They take knowledge in their mother tongue so they better understands it n their people use this knowledge to create products which create jobs n industries. While in India we people get education in English which only God knows how many of us really understands deeply & result is in front of us we have very well English speaking people in Asia. Even after producing 1. 5 lakh on paper engineers how many jobs were created I have seen people who are engineers, science graduates, PhDs they are filling applications banking jobs, government Jobs. Even after taking technical education why such bad time come to you answer either you did not study or you could not understand what you were taught in institutes. What our graduates do apart from speaking good English can they good technology products, can they create a new research or do inventions probably is the answer is NO. The biggest fault of our education system is that we are producing English speaking people under the name of education which don't have any knowledge to produce anything they are just good at English talking. Our tongues are molded but brains are wasted because of a deficit of education system. The economy runs by-products, services we are good are creating services not products so our youth is getting unemployed. We are importing electronics, technologies, advanced healthcare devices, advanced medicines, fuel, engines, machines, vehicles, bullet trains. Which we could have designed by yourself if our youth had got a quality education in their own mother tongue. We have destroyed our brains of youth by giving education in a foreign language. Look at the area of any European country all are so small compared to our states but well developed than India. We really need to change our centralised system to distributed one. Each state must take responsibility to develop their economy. ONE PARLIAMENT in Delhi really can never handle the burden of 29 states. We need to change our centralised system to states focused system.

According to me. There is no any language that should be official. There are 29 states in India and many states have their own language and that is official for them for that part of India.

When we talk of "Bharat" and feel proud to be a part of one of the oldest and modest civilisations in the world, we need to have a heart full of respect and ambitions for our nation. It is our country which has given us identity, safety and pride in ourselves. When we talk of being a Bengali, a Tamil, a Maharashtrian or an Assamese (for instance) , we are doing nothing but decreasing our own stature. We as Indians, have certain obligations towards India and giving her a national language is one of them. India needs a national language to develop, academically, economically as well as emotionally. When it comes to Hindi, there are many who stand against it, but let us analyse the situation keeping aside our thoughts as speakers of a certain mother tongue or being residents of a particular state. I have travelled far and wide in my country and have found that people even in the state of Manipur are fluent in Hindi. Making Hindi the national language will not decrease the importance of any other Indian language, rather it will give us all a sense of linguistic identity which we require, especially in the education sector where we are forced to learn a foreign language. India has always respected every religion, culture and language. Should we not shun our personal preferences and show an example of unity in diversity in the world! Hindi is a relatively easy language which Indians can easily learn as the second language in states where it is not spoken. Having a national language will show India's strength to the world and give the others a message that we will not compromise even when it comes to communication. For everything else, there are translators!

Those people who are favouring Hindi in this forum belongs to northern states of the country who think each & every Indian from all states do understand Hindi first of all they have never been in South India basically all southern languages are completely different from Hindi viz. Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam. In order to make common language for we will have to teach them to learn Hindi this act doesn't make difference to northern states because their dialects are similar to Hindi so it's natural for them to pick Hindi language easily & it's convenient decision for them too because they don't have to take efforts to learn anything new. Now when you impose this decision to southern states we should use our common sense that southern languages are completely different from Hindi n these people don't have even their alphabets similar to Hindi. In this scenario southern people will have to struggle to learn this language against their will which is against the fundamental right to preserve their language and there is really no need to speak Hindi to show unity if we really want to maintain unity first respect others emotions & respect their choices and their mother tongue which represent their values just bringing all people on common language platform won't bring unity it will rather create dissent n injustice feeling in large mass of nation. India has two official languages Hindi and English. If you can't talk Hindi which is convenient to north India then talk in English which is familiar to all Indians because English is common language of education all over nation. If we keep on insisting & impose Hindi on all then that day is not far when our all beautiful mother tongues will be degraded and vanished for the sake of one language which has happened to Maithili already.

India is banyan tree. All languages are inspirational as it's branches. We are progressive so it is essential to understand themes of all literature and accept valuable thoughts. It does not matter Hindi should be national language are not.

No doubt Hindi language embraces beauty and we Indians are proud of it. But if we start from north and travel through towards south the use of hindi language goes on decreasing. Especially, the southern states which find it very difficult to speak as well as to learn hindi. They are more comfortable in english as compared to hindi. So currently I don't think that India is state of declaring Hindi as its official language.

India does not have a national language as there are more than 1600 languages in India and it would result in chaos. However as per the Indian Constitution Hindi (Devagiri script) and English are the official languages already.

According to me hindi is not the official language of India because many people of the India not able to understand the hindi properly and English is better language to communicate.
