Let's get into the facts now Hindi speaking states in India are Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh (10 out of 29) I think majorly people who are supporting Hindi as NL should be belonging to these states and they are right from their point of view because it's convenient for them but what have you thought about people belonging from states like Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Kerala, Andhra, Telangana, North Eastern states if you observe they don't understand even alphabets of Hindi. By imposing them Hindi as NL don't you feel we are doing injustice to all these states or is it the price they have to pay for being part of the union of India who's administration is getting controlled by city namely Delhi which is again part of Hindi spoken region of the nation. If you have the right to preserve your language then why others don't have it this can't happen in democratic nation n if it going to happen then you are going destroy other 21 languages for the sake of Hindi and language is not just medium of talking it has culture, values, identity if all Hindi speaking states would be pressurised to talk in Tamil or any other Indian language what will happen to mother tongue skill (viz Hindi) I think its common sense thing put you into others shoes first. If you can't-do it you should not force it on others. And those who have the perception that all Indians understand should clear their facts by visiting non-Hindi states and go to a rural region as well not just cities then only they will realize by imposing Hindi on them how miserable life they can have because of you. And in the constitution, every individual has right to protect their language article 29. If we don't follow it we are going against the constitution.

I have presented my opinions about the Hindi language that it should be our official language of our India but along with Hindi A person should also know the English language because English is a global language and it is understandable around the whole world so if we have knowledge of English language then we will get many benefits through it. It will develop our personality and many more. So by taking many benefits of English language in mind so many peoples have commented that English should be our official language.

But tell me one thing when you will communicate with The Almighty then in which language would you feel comfortable?

Hello.

Myself Nandinni.

According to me, Hindi should be our official language as because when we communicate with each other in Hindi then we feel joy and happiness but in the case of English it doesn't happen. Along with it there are so many merits of Hindi language. The Hindi language gives our nation the name of 'Hindustan' So we should be proud of the Hindi language.

Our constitution has also declared Hindi as an official language of India in year 1950.

The Indian constitution, in 1950 declared Hindi in Devanagari script to be the official language of the union The use of English for official purposes was to cease 15 years after and there are 22 languages in India. In West Bengal also speak Hindi. Around 53% of the Indian population understand, speak and probably able to write hindi in India.

Total hindi speaker =53%.
Total English speakers =12%.

Thanks.

Hello Everyone,

I'm completely opposing HINDI as an official language. Everyone can't accept hindi. As India has more than 19, 500 languages spoken every day. And we can't blindly accept Hindi as an official language just because it has the majority of population talking. If Hindi is made as official language another language will lose there importance and one day they will disappear from us. Every single language will have equal importance. We can't dominate minor population languages. We are Indians we are known for "UNITY AND DIVERSITY". We should never compare ourself with other nations, they might be having there own national language or official language. Hindi is like Aliean language for South Indians like people of Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu or Pondicherry, we can't force them to learn and get adjusted to Hindi as an official language.

If Hindi is made as official language there will be a huge disturbance in the society from other language and there can be varition in national intergation. And is completely unacceptable from other states. So its better that if we don't copy everything from another country. Let's be what we are in official language matter.

Thank you.

Hello everyone, A very good evening to all of you.

This is Ajay kumar, today my topic is should hindi be the official language of India.

In my point of view yes, it must be our official language to speak in our country. As we all know that India is a country of diverse land and there are many languages which is being spoken across our country. For the better communication, we all have to accept one language that is hindi as an official language. Many peoples feel uncomfort in expressing their views and ideas in english or other language as they express better in hindi. As we all know that different countries have different official languages and they feel proud to speak their own language but why we do not so? by speaking one language also helps to fasten the growth of the country.

Thank you for reading my opinion.

Those people who are favouring Hindi in this forum belongs to northern states of the country who think each & every Indian from all states do understand Hindi first of all they have never been in South India basically all southern languages are completely different from Hindi viz. Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam. In order to make common language for we will have to teach them to learn Hindi this act doesn't make difference to northern states because their dialects are similar to Hindi so it's natural for them to pick Hindi language easily & it's convenient decision for them too because they don't have to take efforts to learn anything new. Now when you impose this decision to southern states we should use our common sense that southern languages are completely different from Hindi n these people don't have even their alphabets similar to Hindi. In this scenario southern people will have to struggle to learn this language against their will which is against the fundamental right to preserve their language and there is really no need to speak Hindi to show unity if we really want to maintain unity first respect others emotions & respect their choices and their mother tongue which represent their values just bringing all people on common language platform won't bring unity it will rather create dissent n injustice feeling in large mass of nation. India has two official languages Hindi and English. If you can't talk Hindi which is convenient to north India then talk in English which is familiar to all Indians because English is common language of education all over nation. If we keep on insisting & impose Hindi on all then that day is not far when our all beautiful mother tongues will be degraded and vanished for the sake of one language which has happened to Maithili already.

In my opinion, I feel that Hindi need not be the official language of India. However, its present status needs to be uplifted.

India is a country with a rich heritage incorporating more than 300 regional languages in herself. In case Hindi is made our official language, the numerous regional languages occupying their beautiful episodes in our History may feel endangered. And in our present scenario, where already our citizens hanker after the foreign culture, such a step may wipe out the essence of our literary diversity.

There is a large fraction of our populace which is not familiar with any language other than its mother tongue. Every person honours his/her mother tongue. Therefore, any effort to make Hindi our official language will lead to a chain of chaos all around.

However, I would also like to add that the present status of Hindi in India is so poor that the future of the glorious language seems to be uncertain. We need to understand that although we, the citizens of India are divided by other regional boundations, but we are united as Indians. Thus, there must be a language that should connect our hearts and souls, like the pearls in a necklace.

Thus, Hindi must be a compulsory language, but need not be an official one.

Every Indian must study at least two languages, one his/her mother tongue and Hindi.

Hi,

First of all, I would like to tell that Language is just a way to communicate our opinion, just for understanding what other says. It does not depend upon the language, what we speak.

Yes, we are in 8th largest economy in the world so we need to speak in English for foreigners. It is not only that English is their official language but yes is it for that we Indians respect every language.

But yes we are 7th largest nations in the world. Most of the country has their own officials language like - Chinese in China, Spanish in Spain, Rush in Russia, German in Germany,

So let's make "Hindi is for Hindustan".

Jai hind.

Hindi should not be the official language of India because India is a diverse country where people follow different religions and cultures. If we notice closely every region has their own language and that's the beauty of India. People from different religions, castes, and creeds live together. But, if we try to make Hindi our official language it somehow makes other languages inferior and as a diverse country, we should not do it as. Every language is important for their native people.
