Hello everyone,

According to my thought, official language should be made to that language where each and every person from Kashmir to Kanyakumari will be able to understand and speak as well.

Every language is beautiful just like every festival of India is.

So Hindi should be made official language but that doesn't mean we should ignore other languages because each language plays important role in its own way.

Hello everyone.

In my point of view, Hindi shouldn't be made as India's official language because if made it won't be a unifying factor for India. Our entire country is divided into different states based on languages if Hindi becomes official language the people speaking other language feel they're alienated hence there will unnecessary chaos in the country that's why our founding fathers of our country didn't made Hindi the official language. Hence to preserve our unity in diversity we shouldn't make Hindi as the official language of India.

Yes, Hindi should be the official language of India. Did anyone of you heard about "Devanagiri Lipi", in which what we speak it is written in the same way whereas in other languages it not in that way. What we speak is different from what we write. And it is the Language which can be easily written and easy to understand and speak and this is the reason why our government made it as an official Language of India. And most of the words are same as Sanskrit which is understandable by everyone. So just raising issue on this topic leads to national problem where every state has to fight.

The government should take further more steps for easy learning and be reading Hindi Language like making it compulsory as the first language in school, interlevel.

Thank you.

It is more of a diverse matter than it looks. I want to summarise it in following points:

1. There needs to be a common language which every person in a country should know. This creates a sense of unity of the nation, also people will understand each other in any part of the country irrespective of caste, religion, and level of literacy. Since the majority of the population of India can't speak English. Therefore that common language apparently should be Hindi.

2. Due to its huge diversity, there may b choas and disturbance in the country if Hindi is used as an official language, a particular group would want their own language to be the official language.

3. For the sake of argument, if Hindi is considered as an official language, it would have its own disadvantages in the sense that all the English books need to translate into Hindi and that perfect Hindi may not be deciphering to many. Also if our education is build solely in Hindi medium our English language strength will be very poor and students will find difficulty in studying in foreign countries. Students of a developing nation like India should have a strong hold on English to pursue the carriers in foreign countries.

In nutshell, Hindi can't be made official language but it should be one compulsory subject from childhood for students so that people understand each other at the same time are able to surf comfortably through the world to make themselves and their country proud.

Hi all,

In my opinion, Hindi should be the official language in India as we must have our own country official language. Every country has their own official language and because of that, they have fewer difficulties in coordination among their country people. Hindi is a well-known language all over India and also to its neighbor countries like Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh. Also if we go outside of India other countries always see us as a people of Hindi speaking language. They don't know anything about, other national languages of India. Also as we all are considered as Hindi in other countries irrespective of our different religions so why shouldn't we have Hindi as an official language? Some people think whoever speaks English is an intelligent person but the reality is that it's just a language which has been recognized as an international language to communicate with other continents people. So even a Hindi speaker can be much intelligent than a fluent speaker of English language. In India, Hindi will also be easily understood by other non Hindi speaker people of different states.

There should be no official language of India as there is no official sport of the country.

In my view, English is already filling the void of the common language connecting north and the south. It has been secondary or tertiary language in administration behind the official language of many states.

Moreover, Hindi does not represent the entire country but only north. So Hindi or any other language doesn't have a right to be the official language for such a diverse country as India.

Hello Everyone.

This is Yukti Varshney.

I would like to appreciate the dogma of participants.

In my opinion Hindi should be the official language of India, As we know India is Hindustan so Hindi is the identity of India, although India is diversifying countryside, so it is very much difficult to adopt all language, everyone will favour to his state language, it's better to make one nation one language Hindi should be the official language of India. Children are unable to speak write read and understand the Hindi Language which is shameful being Indian. Hindi language must be mandatory in the office so our coming generation must be able to focus on Hindi. People ignore Hindi as it makes their standardized lower which is not true actually. People make their standard by speaking English. Most of the people focus on their state, not the entire country. If we following the same phenomenon for long do very soon India will loose it's identity of Hindi.

I strongly believe It should be an Official language of our proud nation.

Of course, 100percent without any doubt Hindi should be the official language of India. Because it is the only language which is commonly spoken by every person of this country. From the north to south and east to west people are able to understand this language. Even an illiterate person can easily understand this. And this is official language means. Which is understand and spoken by every person which lead forward all the sections of society come together. Moreover, English as a second language must be promoted to move with the world. HINDI as an official language does not mean we should ignore other ones. Each language has its own place.

As far as my concerned There should be no official language for India. The people from North can understand hindi, as their mother tongue is hindi but what about the people of south ? Yes many of south people know hindi but why should we follow hindi as official language, what if we demand our regional language to be official language, are those hindi speaking states going to agree ? They won't, because o imposing hindi as official language and English as communicative language every state in India loosing its local language respect and knowledge.

Finally if we really need to have an official language then we all must vote for English which is easily understandable to everyone except the illiterate persons but the local officers will explain them in local language.

Hello, it's Jyoti. I'm completely against to this topic reason being India is a country which has a number of languages. People from the different state have their own language. Thus India is not dependent on only one language. For eg, if we assume Hindi to be our official language it won't work because a person from belonging from south India will not be able to understand. See we should not be diplomatic that both Hindi and English will work yes English being a common language not only for India bit for the whole world is the only language for an official matter so that everyone can understand it better. Being an Indian we cannot give preference to our Hindi. Because India itself has many languages then why only Hindi.
