Is the Business of Business only Business?

Yeah business of business is obviously a business, as nowadays company main motive is to earn profit instead of taking care of customer needs. Ya I agree companies made products as per customer demand but not because they concerned about providing best facilities to them but instead because they have to earn profit as much as possible.

Definitely not!
Business of business is much more than just doing business.
To say businesses to do only business is like to say a person not to be active socially, and to be only a selfish.

Instead of being profit driven businesses must understand their responsibilities towards customers, society and all its stakeholders including government.

They should do more than just a business. In-fact whatever they do more than a business should be the integral part of business.

Seems to be very complicated !

Business of Business is a business but business of business is not only a business. Nowadays, Business has realised its responsibilities towards society and are coming up with the concept of CSR. Now its has shifted its main goal from profit maximisation to wealth maximisation that is achieving higher market value in common stock, ensuring more consumer satisfaction and taking care of their needs. Nowadays consumers have got more awareness and get stuck to a business when it realises and maintains its responsibility towards society. Thank you.

Yes, I strongly believe that Business of business is a business. Let me remind you that the main aim of a business is to earn maximum profit.

As we all know consumer (people) is the kingpin of the market. When a business indulges in CSR activities it creates a "GOOD BOY" image in in the eyes of which ultimately leads to increase in profit.

Let's take a simple example of a hospital. Hospital come under the category of a Nonprofit organization but we all know what actually happens in that NONPROFIT organization.

Every business is for profit making only and all after sale service, customer retention/satisfaction, CSR activities etc are for business purpose only. Business of business is the demand of today's market.

E.g.

A mobile company is selling mobile and provide after sale service till warranty period. After that make business from their service center - business of business. Further company give a new mobile in exchange of old mobile - Again it's business of business.

Taking electronic waste back is CSR activity of company and selling new mobile is business.

I do business of businesss which I think actually called business. Because when we really love something then we will do to do so. But its not only defines profit. It defines your responsibility towards your customer, toward each and every person who ever directly or indirectly related with your business. So, its upto you how you will treat this business of business negatively or positively?

If business is about long term then pursuance of profit should not be the only objective rather satisfaction of stakeholders which also involves society. If even companies do CSR activities for branding they are serving to the society in a way which is a win win situation for both sides. To focus on long term growth, companies should broaden their view and think beyond profit objective only.

According to me, business is not only for profit, besides profit it should lead to economic and social development of society. People will recognize a business which is for their upliftment. Business done for personal profit will face closure one day. Now a days all big companies are coming into social work, this is because they have realized that to exist in a society they will have to do good for people, this is used as success mantra these days by the big companies of India as well as foreign companies have also now realized that consumers are very aware these days. No one can fool people. So, profit is also important, no one is here for social service but only profit making policies will not help one to exist for long time.

I disagree with the above. Statement. Because business itself doesn't means earning. Profitis are the outcomes of a successful business. But for building a proper succeeding market to a product the company must satisfy the customer. If initially the customers are fulfilled. With a product. Then they definitely doesn't step backwards in investing a much more price next time. Which indeed brings profits for the company and demand for the products. Hence as far. As I am concerned businesses is about earning trust of buyers and slowly expanding its roots for more profit.

The phrase "business of business is only business " is very true. Sometime businessmen buy low quality product and sell them by their name. The customer buy that product because they believe in that brand. So business is all about business. Buying and selling is part of business. Customer see there profit, company see there profit. No one is concerned about other they only think of profit.

This happens a lot in cloth market they label the cloth by there tag and sell the the same product you can buy a roadside market there you get cheaper.

If we buy from mall we have to pay more money. Sometimes company buy the clothes from roadside and hang them in showroom there we pay amount 1000 for a piece of cloth which cost only 200.

I agree business of business is only business which make profit.
