I will talk about the pros first, social networking sites played a crucial role during the COVID-19 pandemic, for quick information sharing like information about virus, safety protocols and announcements by the government, facebook, and Instagram helped people with emotional and mental support by social connections, these networks were used as a tool for online education also. Not only in a pandemic, in general, many people do not have easy access of eduction they have YouTube and other online platforms for learning, but women who are not allowed to work outside can also do work from home, and people who have different skills and want to explore new skills, are getting a better opportunity through social media. There are regions, facing natural disasters we can rise fund for them also, for cancer patients we can rise fund. NGOs and the government are using social media for awareness campaigns. Now I will like to draw the attention towards the negative aspects of the social media, for mainly students it is becoming a site of distraction by different kind of stuff and secondly everyday we hear news about online scam about money, information and other things. There is always a fear of misinformation, that causes major problems in daily life. By and large, we can work on the negative things of social media and equip it with more new technologies.

Let's first talk about the pros first social networking sites such as Instagram, Facebook and twitter help to people to get interact with each other virtually and help to spread the news and give information about programs that is happening in anywhere in the country it is also used for entertainment purposes. Because of social media sites brands can promote their product all over the world without going physically.

Social media sites have cons also such that students wasting their time so much on social media sites. Also, rummers and fake news also spread all over the world suddenly which gives false information and negative impact in society.

People use social media site for bad purposes also such as online gambling various scam also happing on social media site.

As everyone uses social networking sites for their day-to-day update and their lifestyle updation, social networking sites are popular and it is used by most people in the world. Social networking sites have both pros and cons.

Firstly, let me go with the pros. Social networking sites can be used for many useful things and it can be very useful for the younger generation. In such a way finding their jobs and to upskill their skill.

For example let me explain with a LinkedIn app which is the adult behavioural version of Instagram. This social networking site can be used for finding jobs uploading their new project or current ideas or their victory. So that the recruiter can easily identify the candidate.

However social networking sites have many pros for the younger generation and the old generation and also have more cons such as cyberbullying, stress and anxiety. For example in apps like Instagram, some of the users are cyberbullied for their posts. Using social networking sites beyond the limit will lead to stress and a lack of confidence and concentration.

Social media also helps us with online activities such as registration, ticket booking, online transactions, home delivery, and more.

However, there are also negative aspects. Because of social media, we sometimes don't spend enough time with our parents. At a very young age, we may start experiencing vision problems (eye problems). It can also distract us from our studies and cause many other issues.
