As we all know every coin has two sides and so does these social networking sites. It connects us from people who lives far from us but it is often seen that it disconnects us from the people who are living with us. This can be mostly seen in 90 percent of teenagers.

Today, I’m going to talk about the advantages and disadvantages of social networking and its impact on people.

As we all know, every coin has two sides—both positive and negative. Similarly, social networking also has its benefits and drawbacks. It impact depends entirely on how a person chooses to use it.

Let’s first talk about the advantages.

Social media has become a powerful tool. Business owners now advertise their products easily and reach more customers. Job seekers use platforms like LinkedIn to find jobs and improve their skills. People watch tutorials to learn new topics, from cooking to coding.

Social media also gives everyone a voice—people create videos to express their opinions, and real-time news updates keep us informed about what’s happening around the world.

However, just like every coin has another side, there are also disadvantages.

Many people don’t read privacy policies carefully before filling out forms online. As a result, they may unknowingly give away their data and fall into traps like scams, online harassment, or cyberbullying.

Different social media platforms serve different purposes, and users need to understand that. Unfortunately, some people misuse these platforms by spreading fake or harmful content, and others can easily fall into these traps.

Nowadays, almost everyone owns a smartphone, but not all users—especially elderly people—are aware of how their data can be stolen by scammers or hackers. So, we must help spread awareness about digital safety. As we all know, in today’s world, data is extremely valuable.

Recently, on platforms like ChatGPT and other AI sites, people have started uploading their private photos to create stylized images—like Studio Ghibli versions of themselves. What many don’t realize is that this can be risky. Some AI tools may be able to reverse or trace these edited images, revealing original or sensitive information. This is something we should all be cautious about.

In conclusion, social media is a great way to stay connected with the world, but we must use it wisely. It’s important to think before clicking, sharing, or filling out any online forms. Always check if a source or platform is authentic before trusting it.

According to me, these websites have transformed into a platform where people can post rubbish and fake things. These websites have lost their importance for which these websites were designed that was communication with people living in different cities, countries. Also, people are involved so much on these websites that they don't have time to talk to the person living at the next door. We are losing our true friends just because of a few virtual friends. There are few knowledgeable kinds of stuff on these websites. Also, misdirecting our youth and letting them waste their energy.

The social media has both advantages and disadvantage like every coin has both the side so its one's perspective to see the which side they are taking as we know the motto of this side are to connect the whole world and these sites are doing it very nicely as now a day we are not far away from anyone we can talk to anyone no matter where they are so Social networking sites are helping us to get connected to the whole world and also it helps in spreading awareness of the issues which are going on on the different corner of the world but some people are taking it otherwise or we say using it in wrong way, they are trying to spread the fake news like the case of one terrorist in Kashmir who use these sites to manipulate the people of Kashmir.

So now I conclude with the notes that it has some demerits but the merits are more so we can conclude that social networking sites have a good impact on our societies.

According to me, social media has good as well as bad impact too. It is for connecting people world wide and they have done it. By using social media we can share any important thing instantly because this is the only plateform where we can share instantly.

But sometimes I have seen a very bad example of using social media is when someone had an accident on road some people are making video of them and upload it on social sites instead of doing help to the needful, and after that they said that they have done it to aware their relatives but that's not more imp. Then their lives.

Social media like platform as WhatsApp, Facebook, tweeter are giving to people opportunities to connect easily each other across the long distances. Now everything is available only on your fingertips. India has 696 million internet users and in the world, there are 3.5 billion internet users. India is also the second largest online market behind China so it is good for our country for the economic condition. Social media is also allowing democratization of knowledge and broader communication. So it bridge between people and make easy to communicate with people. There are many benefits of Social media if we use in a proper way.

As we all knew that every coin has two sides in a similar way social media has both positive as well as negative sides. But the use of social media platforms totally depends on the users and how to utilise these platforms for their own beneficiaries.

Nowadays a lot of youngsters are spending much of their time on watching reels and videos and shorts etc. In spite of wasting much of time, youngsters should utilise their time in gaining knowledge and improving skills using the platforms like Instagram, YouTube, Facebook etc.

In my opinion, social networking has some positive and negative effects on human life, such as it depends on any individual and children how he uses social media. Like wasting most of your time on social sites like whatsapp, instagram, facebook etc. And the effect on health, but some students use it for jobs, small news and online learning etc.

In my opinion, the social site itself cannot be considered positive or negative as it solely depends on the user who is accessing it.

Social media if used the optimal way it can be the greatest tool for learning new things and connecting with people for example during the pandemic social media helped us to discover ourselves, and our passion and provide us the time to connect with our loved ones and get updates on the current happening.

On the flip side if a person is just spending hours scrolling through content which has nothing to do with his goals and benefits he's just wasting his time and energy. Research has shown that people tend to compare their lives with others on social media where everyone just posts about their good times and achievements which leads to a major cause of depression. Considering the dopamine hits it gives it won't be wrong to consider social media as a DIGITAL CIGGERATE accessible anytime, anywhere. A recent survey concluded that people would rather spend time online than get out and actually connect with people which questions whether we are social animals or evolved to social media animals.

Thank you for giving me this opportunity. Nowadays social media plays a crucial role in everyone's life. It has both good and bad effects. We can use the platforms such as YouTube, what's up, Instagram, Facebook, Chatgpt, and so on. From these platforms, we can learn new things, gain knowledge, improve business, etc. It has more benefits when we use it in the proper manner otherwise it leads to stress and depression. It is useful to communicate with people who are far away from us. By using this we can easily find job opportunities. It also gives entertainment.

As per as I know social media is useful for people who are going to build their careers and it is worse when people use this for unnecessary things and waste their valuable time.
