Yes. I think extracurricular activities must be there in the schools. Our upcoming generation should learn to live practical life rather than be a bookworm. These activities will enhance and groom their personality. Directly or indirectly they will learn the basic lessons of life like self-discipline, moral courage, physical courage, hardworking, time management etc.
But at the same time. We should not take this as a competition. Nowadays everyone wants to be better than others. But becoming better by leaving others behind. I don't think thats good. So. With the race of this activities and so called competition. At the same time. We should have unity. Have some morals to do things together. We should not bring that much self centered behaviour within ourself!

I am posting my comments.
If I talk of extracurricular activities then it is most important part to develop a child in school as academically one can only learn out some topics but if one in indulging with extracurricular activities then he or she can find an interest in himself or herself as to develop a child from starting then it is necessary to find out the interest of that child because extracurricular activities helps to groom out the personality in a different way. Marks are just a platform to go ahead but inner development is to live the way you want.

Hello guys,
The is no debate in this topic. Definitely extra curricular activities should be made compulsory as it not only results in the all round development of the student, but it also let the student know and explore much more about his own interests and hobbies. Also these activities make students learn various things such as team spirit, leadership skills, communication skills, social skills and also remove stage fright. These small small activities can bring a big change in the students life as they let the students throw off their wings in all directions and fly as high as they wish.
But the only point contradicting is that these activities require many different materials which a poor family can't afford on a daily basis. So I think that the materials for such activities should be provided by the schools and also the schools should conduct various competitions so as to build a spirit of motivation among the students.

Yes, I think it should made compulsory because in school only children can learn a lot. Childhood is the age where we can learn many things without any hesitation and the base get developed at that stage. Extra curricular activities keep the mind fresh and awake. Children will be definitely benefited if extra curricular activities can be implemented.

Yes, extra curricular activities should be made compulsory in schools. Studying is not the only think that helps you in life. When we set out to live life on our own terms, we face many difficulties that are so very related to what we can learn from extra curricular activities. You learn the importance of time management, team work, mental stability in crunch situations, and most importantly you learn about your limits which is of utmost importance if you are to succeed in life. So, I would prefer co-curricular activities should be made compulsory school.

In my opinion,
Here I'm seeing a lot of Yes's. But what about the No's.?
The child may not want to play sports. you can still be healthy and not play the sport.
this should be the child's choice. not the parents.
Here is a list of negative points to the statement.
- Low-skilled players
- Not wanting to play
- Cost involved in the school, umpires, coaches, venues
- Different sports that the schools might not have and then be forced to play what they don't want to
- Club being at the same time as school
- Not everyone is wanting to play sport " attitude not being serious
- Won't take it as seriously
- Won't enjoy coming to school
- People might not have time (give up work or club commitments)
- Cost for parents to make child play school
- Space that's available around the school
- Injuries

Hello everyone.
According to my point of view, Extracurricular activities are the important part of a student life. This plays an important role in overall development of students. Extracurricular activities like playing, dancing, singing also good in the context of physical and mental health development which is directly proportional to the academics performance also.
But we should promote these things in such a way so students itself choose this rather than compulsion. I would like to quote it famous quotation "free bird fly high" so we need to promote this kind of system where joining extracurricular activities is their choice, not compulsion.
Thanks.

Hello, myself Krishna Kant.
I want to tell related to this. In my opinion, extracurricular activities are important for the development of a student. Extracurricular activities consist playing, singing, dancing, walking etc. Which are used to develop mentally, physically. It also makes better health. It is directly proportional to our academic activities like study.
But in case if a student who doesn't like ie. Dance than you don't make any pressure to have an interest in dance. Because if a student has own interest in other things that he or she do better effort for other activities which he like its the better. And quotes is there'free bird fly high' Thank you.

Hello Friends,
I believe that extra-curricular activities should be made compulsory in school. As it helps to increase our confidence. We come to know the various things besides our syllabus. Also, we get time to move out of our study. Students can raise their confidence through this. Participating in such activities also reduce shyness. In a competitive world, it has become important to be an all-rounder. So that they can survive with rest of the world.
Nowadays, people are going through various problems such as anxiety, stress. So participation in such activities can be helpful. It also adds value in personal improvement.

Yes, extracurricular activities should be made compulsory in school because it is must for the overall development of a student. In today's world, the competition level is so high, so in order to survive in this world, every person requires some skills which are communication skills, leadership skills, persuasive skills, social skills and much more. The way in which a person could develop these skills in himself starts from participating in these extracurricular activities. As the student could gain confidence in himself, fight from stage fright. This participation will also help the students from getting a break from their gruelling schedule.
