Not really it completely depends upon how to take them. There are different types of students categorised according to the priorities they study.
1. Some don't study at all.
2. Some study just for marks.
3. And some to have in-depth knowledge of the subject.
Students in the 1st group will anyway not study. While in the 2nd group will study only for marks. While students in the 3rd group will study irrespective of exams.
On one part where there are many suicide cases when students don't clear their exams. Exams and marks can b handled positively assuming they need a little improvement to raise their bar.
Also, parents have to handle such situations in more mature way. Ie they don't pressurise their respective wards for getting good grades.
Because at the end grades are not the only parameter to judge any student.

Hello everyone good evening,
Let me talk about education, nowadays to live in this world, to communicate with others, business activities, to get the job etc we need education. Examination is just a platform to show the world that we are educated, without examination we can't judge our knowledge and nobody can read our mind that we are educated. So, on my point of view examination never kills education, but it teach us to give an example that how can we survive in this world, how we can face the problems.
Thank you.

Good Morning Friends,
Obviously, because exams are only for testing the student. But in this generation only focus about exams. If they are ready to get a good knowledge, They are study in their own way and get a knowledge for their interest. Exam is only for high marks score in examinations. It is not good for their knowledge. It cannot give any knowledge for the students. They are getting fear and stress in their studies. They are having a main problem that is exam. Definitely, exams will helpful for testing their knowledge but exams cannot make a knowledgeable student.
Thank You.

Yes, I do agree examinations have killed education because children are much more focused on grabbing marks rather than knowledge. They don't have their basics clear. All they study is to get marks.

I also think partially that examination has killed education as people keep on rote learning without enjoying or giving consideration to the practical implementation of the subject. We can't check a person's knowledge based on a single exam as one may give it by cramming the night before the exam.

Education is that knowledge which a person remembers for years not for a night instead surprise exams test the knowledge. A paper should be on an objective basis that is questions should be expressed in a practical manner. For eg "there are two types of human activity one is economic other is non-economic, the question can be asked in two ways either they would simply ask the definition our provide a situation like "a woman \'b\' is cooking for her family" classify its any of the human activity. So examination should be held in the second way (where it tests the knowledge as well as skills).

Examinations are important for us but if these are taken in right way.
By exam, we only just analyse the memorising capabilities of a student.
But we have to check the understanding capabilities of a student.

Yes, of course. Examinations in India have spoiled India. If we take foreign nations. For example, take Iceland. There is no examination at all. And yet the country topped in the recently released most educated country list. I want to note a point that Indian education should be exam free and should be rather practical than theoretical.

Well, we are at such an educational system, in which different mentality students are given the same question paper. Some are good at that but few may be good at something else. So we should keep exam on their respective interest and encourage them towards their interest, don't discourage people by keeping the same test to all kinds of people. If they study by their interest, then in India we may many noble prize winners every year.
So, the examination is a crucial part of Student that he/she may score low or high, just encourage them. So they will enjoy the flavour of examination.
Thank you.
