Hello everyone!

I am Prit.

So, today our topic is EQ or IQ. I prefer both EQ and IQ. Emotional quotient is important for our social life. As we all live in a society. We need better EQ for our personal and social behaviour and character. Whereas better IQ is needed for our knowledge so that we can take good decisions to become successful in our life. There should be a balance between both, one should not outweigh the other. Both acts as two wheels in our life in form of a cycle.

We need both of the qualities 100% in ourselves.

IQ and EQ both define the ability to tackle the problem or situation at the front. It depends upon the situation whether we need to think with our Brain or with our Heart. Scientifically speaking, we use our Brain the entire day we stay awake, but, it depends upon how well are we able to take good and effective decisions as per the situation. I believe EQ is a part of IQ, because if we are having an idiotic and chaotic mindset, we cannot take good and intelligent decisions whether it's intellect or emotional.

Both IQ and EQ are complementary to each other. A person having good IQ thinks logically and is not affected by other peoples emotions. IQ is cognition and EQ is affection. A person with good EQ thinks emotionally. A person having high IQ will not consider others interests and sentiments. This may lead to problems in group activity whereas a person with high EQ might be easily influenced by emotions and may not focus on work. So a balance of both is desirable but this happens hardly. A little of high EQ is good according to me.

The Mind is a very wonderful gift given by almighty. The mind is divided into two hemispheres. One portion of a mind which is the right one represents the person's emotions, feelings, loving nature, ability in the field of art, painting, sculpture, dancing, music etc things relevant to EQ terms but another portion of mind represents person's logical and scientific, Intelligence nature relevant to IQ terms. So we have to work on both. We have to maintain a balance between them. Without EQ or less EQ lead life to a drastic situation such as sometimes that person become more alcoholic or smoker or sometimes that person put his life into danger because that person can not face life as it is. While Without IQ or less IQ a person can live not a better life but definitely a sustainable life.

EQ stands for Emotional Quotient or Emotional Intelligence and IQ stands for Intelligence Quotient. EQ basically means how we connect with other people by empathizing with them, by understanding their emotions and feelings. IQ is the indicator of how intelligent a person is, how easily he comprehends a problem, how quick he/she in getting a result or solving any puzzle.

Earlier it was assumed that IQ was the ultimate measure of success of any person but now it has been realised that EQ is best way for determining any person's overall development. It has been found out that a person having higher EQ excels in his or her work, has better capability to manage a team and helps in maintaining friendly behaviour among coworkers and understands difficulties of everyone. Someone has truly said, "IQ will pass you through exams in hall but EQ will pass you through exams in your life". EQ should be inculcated in children from their childhood itself. They should be made to share their food, toys with their friends, they should be encouraged for helping other people and they should be given space. So we should prefer EQ over IQ.

Hi, Friends.

I think that both EQ n IQ are important in one's life. Though they are required at different stages of life but still they are complementary to each other. If one goes missing then the other also looses it's importance. Here I would like to quote a line "A person with high IQ will get through school, a person with high EQ will get through your life".

Thank you.

EQ and IQ both are important. Both play a very important in our life. And hence both should be balanced. But if you want me to choose one. I would prefer EQ over IQ. Because if a person doesn't know how to manage and control his emotions and feelings then what's the use of his intelligence? Ok if I have IQ and no EQ then what's the difference between me and a machine. We are human beings. We are emotional beings. This is what makes us different and unique. Therefore our EQ is more important than IQ. EQ is not only important in your personal life but also in your professional life too.

Hello friends,

EQ & IQ both are important for us, but as we know that you have EQ by birth its the ability how you talk or behave people in front of others its shows your nature not your talent. But when we are talking about IQ it is directly connected to our knowledge, skills whatever we have. Suppose if you are in a interview that time your IQ will define yourself the way you express your answer.

In my point of view, both EQ and IQ are important because they are like two different sides of a coin EQ deals with our personal feelings and IQ deals with our intelligence, every organisation want to have such employees who can balance both in similar manner, EQ is required to work properly with his/her team, and to manage risk, stress and to move on with any kind of situation but I Q deals with ones intelligence I, e how well he/ she can perform in maths, logics, reasonings and he/ she manages the situation logically hence I conclude that EQ and IQ is essential In same quantities without EQ no IQ.

Hi Guys.

After reading many comments on EQ and IQ, I have found that only a few people in the forum have actual knowledge about what I/EQ is.

There was a book published in 1935/36 by Carnegie Institutions written by Dale Carnegie. 15% professional or personal success depends on technical knowledge and 85% success depends on your soft skills. A wide array of soft skills includes how you interact with others in office or society while not hurting their emotion in any way. And the best way to cultivate this skill, people need to understand themselves as a human being before understanding other people.

Thanks.
