EQ or Emotional Quotient is defined as an individual's ability to identify, evaluate, control and express emotions. People with high EQ usually make great leaders and team players because of their ability to understand, empathize and connect with people around them.
IQ or Intelligence Quotient determines one's academic abilities and is determined by several standardized tests to assess an individual's intelligence. People with high IQ gain success in challenging task and has the ability to analyze how to approach towards a goal.
So, both EQ and IQ is necessary for a successful person. A person with high IQ and low EQ can innovate but will not be able to manage different people around him and vice-versa. Thus, there should be a balance between EQ and IQ.

In my opinion, EQ and IQ both are necessary.
I feel everyone is unique and is important. There is always something that we can contribute to, the amount is not important. A person with better IQ/EQ has his own workspace and methodology he contributes to the work differently as a person with different IQ/EQ. Better Iq person can work smartly to do toughest works easily hence develop fame and wealth. Better eq person can develop popularity and leadership qualities he can withstand adverse condition and overcome them.
For a task to be done we need many kinds of people.
Some who would manage a team (highEQ).
Some who would plan task to perform it in better way (high IQ).
Some who would work tirelessly. (average IQ and EQ).
Contribution made by everyone has different impact and equally important.
Person with higher IQ can work on any arena and earn money and fame but may lack good social circle, hence may develop depression or suffer emotionally.
Persons with higher EQ develop a large social circle of friends and supporters who help them in difficulties, they may not be much richer or famous due to their technical abilities but can live a happy life by supporting others living for mass.
A person with average IQ and EQ is best as the person do not suffer either way. He can work anywhere happily with a fair wealth and fair emotional stability. He would be the most satisfied person.
Balanced IQ & EQ is most desirable.

I think that both are essential for the people. But I prefer EQ over IQ. Because EQ gives the awareness for making an important decision but not IQ. E.G: Atom Bomb was invented by a person who has high IQ but he did not aware that what will happen if it goes to wrong hand. Because of lack of EQ Atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki and rest all you know.

I believe that both EQ and IQ of a person must be balanced. They both go hand in hand because what IQ thinks is expressed by EQ.

Hello Everyone,
I prefer both EQ and IQ. A good IQ helps to excel in studies. A good EQ can help in dealing with situations. A combination of both will make a person successful in both life and career.
Without having a good hold on emotions, one can not take correct decisions, may get discouraged when faced with failures. A good IQ is required to think beneficially.

I think eq and iq are nothing but two different sides of coin and coin will only be acceptable if it has both the sides. Many say eq links with our personal life and iq links with professional part of ours but I think eq lags iq. Like for dealing with clients only iq will not gonna work one need to have eq skills for convincing them. Iq result defines with numbers or score. Eq involves remarks. Dealing with any situation requires how intelligently we use our emotions.

IQ is more technical term. It's an indicator of cognitive capacity, specifically it's one's ability in thinking and reasoning. In 1921, Lewis Terman (Psychologist at Standford University) interviewed and selected roughly 1500 kids from all over the world with an IQ around 150 or above. He hypothesized that these kids would become great policy makers, Nobel laureates, famous professors or great artists. But only a few kids are successful in life. One more fact I want to mention here, Chris Langan (IQ 195, more than Einstein). But he is not a Nobel laureate. So, only IQ does not guarantee success. In the case of EQ, people with well-developed emotional skills are more likely to be content and effective in their lives, mastering the habits of the mind that foster their own productivity; whereas people who cannot marshal some control over their emotional life will fight inner battles that sabotage their ability for focused work and clear thought. Life success is a result of both factors. Both IQ and EQ undoubtedly play roles in influencing your overall success, as well as things such as health, wellness, and happiness. Rather than focusing on which factors might have a more dominant influence, the greatest benefit may lie in learning to improve skills in multiple areas.

Well, I agree with my friend, Emotional intelligence or Emotional Quotient (EQ) is the ability to identify, assess, evaluate and control on emotions. If any person has this ability then definitely they are a good leader, good team Player, ability to deal with oneself emotions and others also. Today most of the companies want a person who has more EQ, because person have to work in a team.
Intelligence Quotient (IQ), is the score obtained by standardized testing to assess intelligence of individuals. The person who has high IQ can solve difficult problems easily, puzzles, mathematical questions and also they have very good reasoning ability.
In conclusion, I want to say that both the abilities in a person has own importance. If any person has lack of IQ and EQ level, both can be improved by good foods, meditation and by certain tests. Thank you.

EQ or Emotional Quotient may be defined as a person's ability to express emotions and IQ or Intelligence Quotient may be defined as a person's ability with the brain. In my opinion, both are equally important in life if one has to become successful. Having an extraordinary ability to think i.e. IQ will not ensure that the individual is a good team player, or that his/her relations with his/her colleagues are good enough. Similarly only having a good EQ score does not prove a point that a person will excel in life. So a balance is definitely important.

Hi guys!
According to me, we need to balance both emotional quotient (EQ) and intelligence quotient (IQ) in our life. Because, now a days the main problem in our life is imbalancing the personal and professional life. As a result of this, an individual succeed in professional life may fails in personal life and vice-versa. But for a human being both are very important to survive. EQ builds strong relationships and IQ builds strong professional life.
