Both are important. Both have their own merits.
Consider the case of our class exams. If one has a high IQ then he can easily pass the exam. But if he has low IQ and high EQ, still then he can pass the exam (I think you get my point).

Eq and IQ both play a vital role in our life. IQ helps to take a decision in life and eq helps how to react when getting failure or success both are important in life.

Yes, we can consider that iq is over one eq, any problem cannot just solved by only eq and iq, there have both needed as a level, to make the priority on eq is the best example is that a computer cannot replace human mind because the human mind has both EQ and IQ that is needed to complete any task.

According to me, in today’s world, success is often attributed to intelligence and emotional awareness. While IQ (Intelligence Quotient) measures logical reasoning, problem-solving, and analytical skills, EQ (Emotional Quotient) determines how well a person understands emotions, builds relationships, and handles social situations.
Strong Analytical Skills, Academic and Professional Success, and learning Ability is achieved by IQ whereas, Better Leadership and Teamwork, Handling Stress and Pressure, and Stronger Personal and Professional Relationships are achieved by EQ.
Neither IQ nor EQ alone guarantees success. A combination of both helps individuals excel in their careers and personal lives. While IQ might get you a job, EQ will help you grow and sustain it.

Well, friends, I respect all the post over here you all had posted your well thought.
But I want to add my point of view toward IQ and EQ friends both emotional quotient and intelligent quotient are equally important in life but if we talking about business perspective than IQ is little bit more important than EQ because we all no that there is no place for emotional in business but sometimes there is EQ is also create some circumstance that can be help in business but I am in the favor of IQ.
THANKS.

According to me, EQ is a very important factor in personal and professional life of a person. A person having good EQ can overcome any situations in life. IQ is also important to reach heights in profession. To be a good human one should have better EQ than IQ.

EQ or IQ both are playing a significant role and equally important in our life if imbalance is occurred you will not get definitely what you want in your personal and professional life if you don't have IQ level you will get failed to make decision fast and interpret things in varied situation same goes to EQ if you don't have a good relation at your workplace with your colleague, you are unable to connect them emotionally probably they can make wrong perception about you.

EQ and IQ both are equally important. One needs to have balance in both. If a person has great iq but is emotionally weak so he won't be able to perform upto his capabilities.

IQ - Intelligent Quotient.
Which contain: analytical thought logic, memory, hyperactivity, concentration, risk, politics, competency, and technical skills.
EQ - Emotional Quotient
Which contain: holistic thought, empathy, art, music, awareness, motivation, hopes, fear, emotion, soft skills, belief, behaviours, sacrifice, discipline, and dedication.
IQ measures the ability of a person to think logically and also solve new problems with innovative ideas. IQ can be somewhat increased by practice. EQ defines how a person is able to manage his/her own emotions and also understand others emotions.
You need to have a brilliant IQ to become a good engineer, but to be a leader of engineer your EQ is more important rather than IQ. It's different to go ahead with one. I think they are complementary to each other. A person should have EQ like 2/3 ICE in the ocean & 1/3 ICE above water level. So we can understand from this what we see & what we don't see but need to hold space for.
" EQ + IQ = SUCCESS "
There are many examples to understand if one of them is not there then the person is not ideal like Sheldon Cooper from 'big bang theory' has IQ - 187 but a very low EQ level so that's why his coworkers don't like them.
Osama-bin-laden is a great example to understand like a person with a great ability to think is not sufficient, he should have some EQ too. Next, chimpanzees, dolphins, crows, and elephants have more IQ than humans so EQ is one of the factors which differentiates us from animals.
There should be a balance between EQ-IQ because some of the decisions we cannot take by emotions and some not take by the brain every path of life we should have a proper balance between them.
Every successful man maintains a level between them. You might not take any decision with only one of the EQ or IQ. Many companies are looking for an employee having both of them So, they conduct aptitude tests as well as psychometric tests.
Thank you.
