Yes! we need smart city. Smart city does not mean easy life but it means smart people with smart thinking which contribute to smart working. Why smart city only? Why not smart towns/villages!
Digital India is leading smart India.

Yes, we need smart cities and it's good idea but first develop the rural areas very well. In rural areas many problems are in there like electricity problem, education problem, water problem etc. Thanks.

Hello everyone, we are here to discuss whether our nation "NEEDS" smart cities?
We like to categorize ourselves as a growing nation, with our ambition set to be a global powerhouse.
We take pride in our cultural, technological, and economic achievements, but our cities image is tarnished by poor roads, congested houses, stinky lanes, and unreliable public transportation. This is what we need to change. To be a modern nation, we have to look like a modern nation, and the cities are the places where this can be achieved. Smart cities will not only look great but generate employment and revenues proportionally, it is designed to be an economic and social hub, with cutting edge facilities, what this young generation ambitions for. In my opinion, this is a grand move to change our urban life, one city at a time, making a greener and efficient township.
We have a very young generation coming up, with the largest urbanization move we have ever witnessed, and it's important to have the facilities in place to cater to its ambitions. I earnestly feel this is a stroke in the right direction for overall growth of a region and the nation as a whole.

Good afternoon everybody, our GD topic is Do we really need Smart Cities?
Now, Smart Cities these words evoke an imagination of a city in our mind which has high rises, glass buildings with great architecture, intelligent public utilities, less congestion and pollution etc. But before moving to that bright imagination we first need to keep in mind that cities are built for people. Every product or good, ex: a public bus, when its made it remains cleans it looks sharp, all nice. But after a few months the same thing when stained with pan-parag or gutkha. It does not look very smart. So before venturing out to build a smart city, the govt should concentrate on making the people smart by enforcing proper education from a very beginner level and also it should educate the public via mass awareness. Only then we can protect our cities our culture and thus we can live smartly.
The concept of the smart city should rise from within the people who will be using it. Without it, a smart city will also look pale and lame full of half wits.

Yes, we really need smart cities in our country, as it will a major factor in overall development of our country economy growth. WHAT IS SMART CITY?
The place/city where we have access of modern technology easily and ultimately help in evolving human lifestyle. Time will be the most important factor here as access of thing smartly help in saving time and money. Yes I agree that without people mind you cannot afford a successful smart city but at the same time you should also look that as the environment get better people also start getting used to that and hence it would be highly recommended to develop cities into smart cities.

A really interesting feature of smart cities is foreign collaboration. Lots of developed nations are coming and Offering help and experties and technologies in various fields like sanitation, proper waste disposal, traffic.
Controlling, and security. If our government successfully implement the ideas in these smart cities the quality of life will increase. Besides government can later apply all these modern technics in other cities as well.
But building something is easy, what is tough is maintaining. Lots of time we notice there are new infrastructures is built but due to lack of proper maintenance and care those end up in dilapidated conditions.
