India has launched the e-B-4 Visa, an electronic business visa specifically for Chinese nationals, to promote investment, production, and technical business activities. The visa allows online application, faster processing, and permits a stay of up to six months for defined business purposes such as installation, training, IT setup, and senior management visits. This initiative aims to streamline business travel, strengthen bilateral industrial cooperation, and support structured people-centric exchanges between India and China while ensuring regulatory oversight and transparency through platforms like the Indian e-Visa portal and the National Single Window System.

India has achieved a global first by commercially producing and using bio-bitumen as an eco-friendly alternative to conventional crude-oil-based bitumen in road construction. This innovation helps reduce environmental pollution by utilizing agricultural crop residue that would otherwise be burnt, contributing to air quality improvement. Announced at a CSIR technology transfer event, the initiative aligns with national priorities such as Viksit Bharat 2047, Waste-to-Wealth, and Atma Nirbhar Bharat. The joint military exercise “Gulf Shield 2026” was launched in Saudi Arabia as part of efforts by Gulf Cooperation Council member states to enhance regional security. The exercise focuses on improving collective defence capabilities, operational coordination, and combat readiness among participating forces. Through field-based scenarios, joint planning sessions, and interoperability tests, the drills aim to strengthen deterrence against emerging security challenges. The United States announced its withdrawal from a total of 66 international organizations through an executive order signed on January 7, 2026. This decision marked a major escalation in the country’s retreat from multilateral global cooperation, particularly targeting UN-affiliated bodies involved in climate action, labour standards, and social development. The move followed a comprehensive review of U.S. participation and funding, with the administration citing redundancy, inefficiency, and misalignment with national interests as key reasons. The withdrawals have significant implications for global governance, climate response, humanitarian assistance, and the functioning of international institutions worldwide.

Oman and New Zealand provided formal recognition to AYUSH through India’s trade pacts finalised in December 2025. These agreements include dedicated annexures focusing on health services and traditional medicine, marking an important step in institutionalising cooperation in the AYUSH sector. The recognition helps improve market access, harmonise standards, and enhance credibility for Indian traditional medicine products abroad. This development has supported the steady growth of AYUSH exports, which increased by over 6 percent between 2023–24 and 2024–25, strengthening India’s position in the global traditional healthcare market.
