India and Kyrgyzstan jointly inaugurated the International Centre for Civilizational Studies “Manas and Mahabharata” in Bishkek to strengthen cultural and academic cooperation. The centre aims to promote comparative research on the Mahabharata and the Kyrgyz epic Manas while encouraging collaboration in history, literature, philosophy, and international relations. The initiative also supports faculty exchanges, joint research, and cultural dialogue between the two countries. Another significant achievement announced during the event was the release of the first Hindi translation of the Kyrgyz epic Manas, further enhancing mutual understanding and preserving the rich literary heritage of both nations.

The Department of Posts partnered with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to conduct the largest-ever telecom network performance survey covering more than 5.68 lakh villages across the country. The survey aims to assess the quality and availability of mobile services provided by operators such as Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio, Vodafone Idea, and BSNL. Using the extensive rural postal network, Gramin Dak Sevaks, and an Android-based mobile application, the initiative will identify connectivity gaps, support evidence-based policymaking, improve rural telecom infrastructure, and strengthen the Digital India mission by enhancing mobile connectivity in remote and underserved regions.

Federal Bank received its first-ever international issuer credit rating of BBB-/Stable for the long term and A-3 for the short term from S&P Global Ratings. This investment-grade rating reflects the bank’s strong financial fundamentals, disciplined risk management, healthy capitalisation, diversified funding profile, and consistent financial performance. A BBB- rating is the lowest level within the investment-grade category, indicating adequate financial strength, stable operating performance, and a strong ability to meet long-term financial commitments. The rating also enhances global investor confidence, improves access to capital, strengthens stakeholder trust, and reinforces the bank’s international credibility.

INS Mahendragiri is the sixth and final stealth frigate built under the Indian Navy’s Project 17A and was commissioned into the Eastern Fleet on 11 July 2026. Designed by the Indian Navy’s Warship Design Bureau and constructed by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited, the warship has over 75% indigenous content, reflecting India's commitment to self-reliance under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative. Jharkhand launched the AI Policy 2026–31 with the objective of transforming the state into a leading hub for artificial intelligence, digital governance, and technology-driven innovation. The roadmap aims to attract more than ₹10,000 crore in private investment, establish over 50 Global Capability Centres (GCCs), support more than 1,000 AI startups, and generate over one lakh AI-enabled jobs within five years. The policy also emphasises AI-powered governance through initiatives such as the Chief Minister’s Data Intelligence Platform, Health and Nutrition Vigilance System, and Critical Minerals Administration System, while strengthening the state's IT infrastructure, startup ecosystem, and digital economy.

India introduced the new Letter of Authorisation (LoA) regime to promote sustainable high-seas fishing, improve fishermen’s incomes, and strengthen the country’s Blue Economy. The initiative enables Indian fishing vessels to operate in the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and beyond while ensuring responsible exploitation of marine resources. It also aims to reduce pressure on coastal fisheries, increase seafood exports, create employment opportunities, and support fishing cooperatives and Fish Farmer Producer Organisations. With a coastline exceeding 11,000 km and a vast EEZ of nearly 24 lakh square kilometres, the initiative seeks to unlock India's untapped deep-sea fishing potential and enhance its position in the global seafood market.

World Population Day is observed every year on July 11 to increase awareness about global population issues, including reproductive health, family planning, gender equality, youth empowerment, and sustainable development. Established by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in 1989, the observance was inspired by the "Five Billion Day" milestone on July 11, 1987, when the world's population was estimated to have reached five billion. The Delhi government has made the Pink Saheli Smart Card mandatory for women to continue enjoying free travel on Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and DIMTS (Cluster) buses from 1 August 2026. The initiative replaces the existing paper-based pink ticket system with a digital smart card to improve transparency, reduce paper usage, simplify ticket verification, and prevent misuse of the scheme. Eligible women must apply for the card, carry it while travelling, and tap it on the card reader when boarding the bus. The government has also established multiple registration centres and launched awareness campaigns to ensure smooth implementation of the new digital system.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) secured the 3rd position in the WDMMA 2026 Global Air Power Rankings for the fifth consecutive year, ranking ahead of China's People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF). The rankings are based on the True Value Rating (TVR) system, which evaluates factors such as fleet composition, modernisation, operational readiness, logistics, mission capability, and domestic aerospace production rather than only the number of aircraft.
