The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), through the Directorate General of Training (DGT), signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Autodesk Inc. on November 6, 2025. This partnership aims to modernize India’s vocational training ecosystem by integrating Autodesk’s advanced design and manufacturing tools into Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs). The initiative will train both students and instructors in digital prototyping, CAD, and AI-enhanced design systems, making India’s vocational workforce more future-ready. By embedding these skills early, the collaboration supports innovation, employability, and industry-aligned technical education.

Kazakhstan is poised to become the newest member of the Abraham Accords, a U.S.-brokered framework that normalizes relations between Israel and Muslim-majority nations. Announced by U.S. President Donald Trump on November 6, 2025, this development expands the accords’ influence beyond the Arab world into Central Asia. Kazakhstan’s entry signifies its intent to strengthen diplomatic, economic, and security ties with Israel and other signatories. The move aligns with its foreign policy of dialogue and regional stability, while also advancing the U.S. strategy of deepening engagement with Central Asian nations traditionally within Russia and China’s spheres of influence.

A nationwide survey conducted by the Wildlife Institute of India revealed that vultures have disappeared from 72% of their historical nesting sites across India, with only 120 out of 425 sites still active. Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan together account for 63% of the remaining nests, most of which are located in protected areas. The report also identified 93 new nesting sites. Notably, the Slender-billed vulture has lost all 47 of its previous nesting sites, with major threats including habitat destruction, poisoning from toxic veterinary drugs, and attacks by feral dogs.

State Bank of India (SBI) has approved the divestment of a 6.3% stake, equivalent to 3.2 crore shares, in its subsidiary SBI Funds Management Ltd (SBIFML) via an Initial Public Offering (IPO). Additionally, its co-promoter, Amundi India Holding, will sell 3.7%, making the total IPO size 10% of equity. This move aims to unlock value and prepare SBIFML for its public listing in 2026, marking it as SBI’s third listed subsidiary after SBI Cards and SBI Life Insurance.

As per the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA) Air Quality Snapshot for October 2025, Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya, recorded the cleanest air in India with an average PM2.5 concentration of just 10 μg/m³. In contrast, Dharuhera in Haryana topped the list of polluted cities with a PM2.5 level of 123 μg/m³, while other highly polluted cities included Ghaziabad, Delhi, and Noida. The report emphasized the need for consistent and year-round air quality management rather than short-term, seasonal interventions such as the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP).

The Cochin University of Science & Technology (CUSAT) has patented an advanced machine learning system designed to accurately decode rainfall information from radar signals. Developed at the Advanced Centre for Atmospheric Radar Research (ACARR), the innovation employs a Hybrid Adaptive Bi-Gaussian Algorithm integrated with a Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) to distinguish between raindrop and turbulence echoes in real time. This AI-driven approach enhances the precision of monsoon monitoring and flood forecasting, significantly improving Kerala’s climate resilience and contributing to the advancement of atmospheric and environmental research in India.

RITES Ltd, a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Directorate General of Naval Projects (DGNP) in Mumbai to provide consultancy services for naval infrastructure development in the Mumbai region. The services will cover soil studies, feasibility analysis, detailed project reports, structural design, project management, and third-party inspection. This partnership aims to improve planning, design, and execution efficiency for Indian Navy infrastructure projects, strengthening defence-related construction capabilities in the Mumbai area.

According to the UNEP Emissions Gap Report 2025, titled Off Target, India registered the highest absolute increase in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions during 2023–24, amounting to 165 million tonnes. Despite this rise, India continues to maintain one of the lowest per capita emissions among major global economies. The report highlights that the G20 nations collectively saw an emissions increase of 22 million tonnes in the same period. With the world projected to warm by 2.8°C—far exceeding the Paris Agreement’s 1.5°C goal—India faces growing pressure ahead of the COP30 climate summit to adopt stronger mitigation measures.

The Odisha government introduced a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) on November 4, 2025, to ensure farm equipment is ergonomically designed for women farmers. The initiative focuses on reducing physical strain, pain, and health issues faced by women due to the use of tools originally made for men. Since more than half of women farmers experience musculoskeletal disorders from male-centric implements, this SOP—developed under the Shree Anna Abhiyan pilot projects—will help test and refine both existing and new farm tools to promote inclusivity and improve agricultural productivity in Odisha.
