Ethiopians Birhanu Legese and Almaz Ayana won the Delhi Half Marathon, 2017. In the Men's section, Legese clocked 59 minutes 46 seconds to claim the first spot, while his countryman Andahmlak Belihu finished second and Kenyan-American Leonard Korir came third. India's Nitendra Rawat finished 10th. In the Women's section, it was a clean sweep for Ethiopia, with world recorded holder Almaz Ayana finishing at the top of the podium. She clocked one hour, seven minutes and 11 seconds. Ababel Yeshaneh claimed the second spot, with Netsamet Gudeta coming third.

RBL Bank opens its First all women branch in Chennai. The branch at R A Puram would be managed by eight women and offer all products and services across liability and assets. The women branch is to encourage gender equality.RBL Bank currently serves 3.54 million customers. It has 246 branches and 389 ATM services across the country.

The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare launched Daily Drug Regimen for treatment of Tuberculosis (TB) patients across the country under The Revis. Under it, Health Ministry is providing a thrice-weekly regimen for treatment of TB, however, it has now decided to change treatment strategy for TB patients. TB is a bacterial disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis bacteria that most often affect lungs. The disease is spread from person to person through the air.

Multinational networking and telecommunications company Ericsson headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden partnered with India's largest telecom operator Bharti Airtel for deploying 5G technology in the country. Apart from Ericsson, Airtel has similar partnership with Nokia for 5G technology standard and management of connected devices.

She is the sixth Indian woman to win the coveted title of Miss World.

The 42nd World Congress of the International Committee of Military Medicine (ICMM) organized by the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) under the aegis of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) began in New Delhi. The five-day event is being organized for the first time in India and is the largest medical conference ever organized by the AFMS. The theme of this 42nd World Congress is "Military Medicine in Transition: Looking Ahead".

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) launched a next-generation satellite called the Joint Polar Satellite System-1 (JPSS-1). It was launched into orbit atop United Launch Alliance-built Delta II rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. It is is first multi-day weather forecasts satellite in NOAA's series of four, next-generation operational environmental satellites representing major advancements in observations used for severe weather prediction and environmental monitoring. It is designed to monitor weather around world and help improve forecasts.
