If a person walks at 14 km/hr instead of 10 km/hr, he would have walked 20 km more. The actual distance travelled by him is:
50 km
56 km
70 km
80 km
Answer: Option
Explanation:

Let the actual distance travelled be x km.

Then, x = x + 20
10 14

14x = 10x + 200

4x = 200

x = 50 km.

If he is going at 10km/hr the distance is 10*t.
If he is going at 14km/hr the distance is 14*t.
The difference = 20km
14t-10t = 20
4t = 20
t = 5 hours
Now, actual distance = 10 * 5.
= 50 km.

If he is going at 14km/hr the distance is 14*t.
The difference = 20km.
14t-10t = 20,
4t = 20.
t = 5 hours.

Now, actual distance = 10 * 5.
= 50 km.
But,
The actual distance travelled by him is : 14 * 5 = 70 Km.

If he walked at 14 km/h instead of 10 km/h, the extra distance is:

14𝑡 − 10𝑡 = 14𝑡 = 20
⇒𝑡 = 20/4 = 5 hours.
Actual distance at 10 km/h:
So, 10 × 5 = 50km.
