A man is 24 years older than his son. In two years, his age will be twice the age of his son. The present age of his son is:

Let the son's present age be x years. Then, man's present age = (x + 24) years.
(x + 24) + 2 = 2(x + 2)

After two year mean you will add 2 in both side.

Father age is twice as son age i.e. (x+24+2) = 2(x+2).

But in question he asked present age of son so we have to subtract 2 the answer will be 20 right?

We assume that the present age of son be "x" that is 22. We don't subtract 2 from that.
