A man is 24 years older than his son. In two years, his age will be twice the age of his son. The present age of his son is:
14 years
18 years
20 years
22 years
Answer: Option
Explanation:

Let the son's present age be x years. Then, man's present age = (x + 24) years.

(x + 24) + 2 = 2(x + 2)

x + 26 = 2x + 4

x = 22.

Hi sri kanth..

2(X+2)?
Ans:

In 2 years , father age will be twice the age of son , so (X+24)+2(father'age+In(after) 2 years) = 2(X+2)(son's present age+ In 2 years) as twice so that's y 2(X+2).

We got finally son's age as 22 year's,but in the problem they have mentioned only after two years father age will be twice as son's age so we have added 2 years both the side .. which is
(x + 24) + 2 = 2(x + 2)

So wen we get the answer we should subtract 2 years so tat we will be getting the present age ......... some body please clarify ma doubt ... :)
