6.
If 6th March, 2005 is Monday, what was the day of the week on 6th March, 2004?
Sunday
Saturday
Tuesday
Wednesday
Answer: Option
Explanation:

The year 2004 is a leap year. So, it has 2 odd days.

But, Feb 2004 not included because we are calculating from March 2004 to March 2005. So it has 1 odd day only.

The day on 6th March, 2005 will be 1 day beyond the day on 6th March, 2004.

Given that, 6th March, 2005 is Monday.

6th March, 2004 is Sunday (1 day before to 6th March, 2005).

1600 years ---> 0 odd days.
400 years -----> 0 odd days.
remaining 3 years ------> 3 ordinary years.
= 3 x 1 = 3 odd days.

Now 31(jan) + 29(feb leap year) + 6(march) = 66 days = 9 weeks and 3 odd days.
So, the total odd days = 0 + 3 + 3 = 6 odd days = Saturday.

So Why not I'm getting the given answer. Please clarify for me.

Why Feb is not included?

Step1: No.of odd days 2000=0.
Step2: No.of odd days 400=0.
Step3: No.of odd days (2001-2003)=3.
Step4: No.of odd days (Jan=31+Feb=29+march=6)=66-(9 weeks+3 days)=3. Total No.of odd days=0+0+3+3=6.
Monday=1.
6+1=7. Is 0 answer is Sunday.

Sunday since they assumed 6th March 2005 as Monday and not Sunday so the day will be increased by 1 hence 1 + Saturday = Sunday.

Find 6 March 2004 what will the Day ?

So, 2004 we consider last two digit then 04 also than add in 100 ; 100+04=104 i.e 26.

Again we add 104+26(and given Month is March so a.c to this we can add 3) +03+(given date is 06);

FInally add: 104+26+03+06 = 139.

Again 139 is divided by 7;

So 139/7 remainder is 06.

Result is 0 is Sunday, 01 Mon, 02,Tues, 04 wed, 05 Thu; 06 sat;
So final ans is 06 (Saturday).

Thank You.

Saturday is not correct as it is mentioned 6th March 2005 is Monday (and this is imaginary and not taken from any actual date from the calendar). So 6th March 2004 will be accordingly an imaginary date and can't be counted using controversial odd day count method.

I think it will be helpful. Thank you.
