If 6th March, 2005 is Monday, what was the day of the week on 6th March, 2004?
Sunday
Saturday
Tuesday
Wednesday
Answer: Option
Explanation:

The year 2004 is a leap year. So, it has 2 odd days.

But, Feb 2004 not included because we are calculating from March 2004 to March 2005. So it has 1 odd day only.

The day on 6th March, 2005 will be 1 day beyond the day on 6th March, 2004.

Given that, 6th March, 2005 is Monday.

6th March, 2004 is Sunday (1 day before to 6th March, 2005).

See, because we have to count from 6th march to 6th march, (2004 is leap year just because of Feb so the extra one day is not included).

So we have to count between 1 year means 365 days.

So 365/7 = 52 as qt and 1 as remainder so basically we have to move back one day from the given day which is Sunday.

Main thing is question has been given a particular day that is Monday it is need not to be necessary the correct day, that as per calendars 6th March, 2005 should be Sunday but if it is asked that it is monday then tell me what will be the day on 6th March 2004, so the formulas we apply can't be applied, because as per formulae 6th March, 2005 is Sunday.

Therefore, we need another method or common sense to use for this question, which has already been provided earlier.

Is this correct? Even though Feb is not included, 2004 is a leap year. So the answer should be Saturday.

The given answer is Correct.

The given data is 'If 6th March, 2005 is Monday' - here we have to consider it as Monday (but actually 6th March, 2005 is Sunday).

As per the calculation 6th March, 2004 is one before to 6th March 2005.

Therefore, one day before to 'Monday' is 'Sunday'.

Note: Please do not check the with the original calendar to find the day of 6th March, 2004. Because the given data is an assumption.

Request: Please think twice before post your doubts here.

Hope you are all understand it well. Have a nice day!

In this 6 mar 2004 - 6 mar 2005 the answer is (-1). So the answer is one day before i.e. Monday before is 'Sunday'.
