If 6th March, 2005 is Monday, what was the day of the week on 6th March, 2004?
Sunday
Saturday
Tuesday
Wednesday
Answer: Option
Explanation:

The year 2004 is a leap year. So, it has 2 odd days.

But, Feb 2004 not included because we are calculating from March 2004 to March 2005. So it has 1 odd day only.

The day on 6th March, 2005 will be 1 day beyond the day on 6th March, 2004.

Given that, 6th March, 2005 is Monday.

6th March, 2004 is Sunday (1 day before to 6th March, 2005).

I think the correct answer is Saturday, because 2004 is divisible by 4. Then the next year may be leap year. Leap year has 2 odd days. Then subtract 2 days. Then answer is Saturday.

No we can start sun as 0, Monday as 1...6 as Saturday.

Its should be Saturday !!
2000 = ( 0 Odd days )
2003 = ( 3 Odd days )

2004 = (Jan 31 + FEB 29 + March 6 = 66 )
66/7 = 63 ( 3 odd days )

Total = 0+3+3 = 6

Its Saturday!!!!

When we move from a leap year to a general year.

There is a increase of 2 days.

Similarly if 6 march 2005 was Monday then 6 march 2004 has to be Saturday.

I don't have a clear idea about how to calculate the day for leap year by using simple tricks (ie) by using code for months.

The correct answer is Saturday. Solve this by finding ordinary days upto 6th march 2004.

Since, March comes after Feb the one extra day in Feb will also get added. So, the correct answer is. Saturday.

Isn't it Saturday right answer?

As from 6th March 2004 to 5th March 2005, we have one day. And 2 odd days till 6th March 2005. Which implies if 6th march 2004 is xth day then 5th march 2005 is (x+1)th day then comes 6th march which is (x+2)th day => if (x+2)th day is Monday then x is Saturday.
