The average age of husband, wife and their child 3 years ago was 27 years and that of wife and the child 5 years ago was 20 years. The present age of the husband is:

Explanation:
Sum of the present ages of husband, wife and child = (27 x 3 + 3 x 3) years = 90 years.
Sum of the present ages of wife and child = (20 x 2 + 5 x 2) years = 50 years.
Husband's present age = (90 - 50) years = 40 years.

Fathers age is the sum of mother and his son age but the today's average age of three of them are 20 so what will be the today's age of father? Can anyone solve this?

27*3 here 27 is average age and 3 is the number (sum is avg*n )
and 3*3 here we are taking after 3 years and into(*) 3 munbers.

((h+w+c)/3)-3=27.........=90.
n0w average age of wife and child.
((w+c)/2)-5=20............=50,
So, 90-50=40 years.

[(h-3)+(w-3)+(c-3)/3] = 27.
[(h+w+c-9)/3] = 27.
[(h+w+c)/3]+(9/3) = 27.
[(h+w+c)/3] = 27+3 ====>h+w+c=30*3 ====>h+w+c=90.
Similarly w+c = 50.
[(h-3)+(w-3)+(c-3)/3] = 27.
[(h+w+c-9)/3] = 27.
[(h+w+c)/3]+(9/3) = 27.
[(h+w+c)/3] = 27+3 ====>h+w+c=30*3 ====>h+w+c=90.
Similarly w+c = 50.

{y+5(10)}/6 is wrong i think .
it has to be y*10+5*10 divided by 5 i think because father has died so only 5 members will be ther ..

(W+C)/2 = 20+5(to get present data).
W+C = 20*2+5*2 = 50.
So (H+W+C)-(W+C) = 40 years.
