Here odd numbered dice means sum of faces in the figure should be even. Then we get 3, 4, 5 figure as odd numbered dice.
No. of dots on the top faces of these dice are 2, 6 and 4 respectively.
Required total = 2+6+4 = 12.
Therefore 12 is the answer.

@To all folks.
First of all as mentioned in the question that "The sum of the numbers of dots on the opposite face is 7. So therefore, the pattern is (1, 6) (2, 5) (3, 4) or vice verse.
Therefore in dice (i) , we see 3 & 6 is shown, that means its opposite numbers are 4 & 1. The erase portion is 2 & 5.
Similarly for dice dice (ii) - 6 & 1, dice (iii) - 5&2, dice (iv) - 6, 1, dice (v) -3&4, dice (vi) - 6&1.
So A/Q No 1- it is 6 +6+6 =18.
A/Q No2- it is taken from dice (i), dice (iii) & dice (v) -2+2+4=8.
And the other process go on like this.
Hope this will help.

Question Have some problem as fig. II, III, IV have one number fixed ie, 4 so as per the rule other numbers (no other that 4 in II, III, AND IV) must be opposite to each other but three no. cannot be opposite.
Thus, there might be some error in the question.
