If is used in three conditions in the English grammar.

A) Introducing a conditional clause.
If the weather is fine, we can walk to the village.

B) Despite the possibility that.
If it takes me seven years, I shall do it.

C) As a noun.
No ifs and no buts.

The above sentence is neither of these conditions.

What's wrong with the original sentence?

After the verb 'doubt', 'that' should not be used. 'if' or 'whether' should be used in its place.

In ENGLISH grammar:
DOUBT is NOT followed by THAT in any sentence.

DOUBT is followed by IF or WHETHER.

eg: Don't doubt THAT, I am all right or not.(WRONG)
Don't doubt WHETHER/IF, I am all right or not.(CORRECT)

I think here 'the' definite article is missing, expressed the doubt.

Chartex explained correctly, we should not use that after the word doubt, we should use only if or whether.
