As per my knowledge, if somebody, someone, anybody, anyone, nobody, noone, everybody, everyone, then the pronoun is followed by his/him but in this case, there are no such words.

As said above, a teacher can either be male or a female. How can a gender be known at all without any anything specifies at all?
