The fixed expression many a/an is more formal than the single word many, and it is much less common. Many a/an is used mainly in literary writing and newspapers. Like the adjective and pronoun many discussed above, many a/an is used to indicate a large number of something. However, it takes a singular noun, which can be followed by a singular verb. Here are some

Examples:

It remained a mystery for many a year [= for many years].

I've been there many a time. [= many times].

Many a politician has promised to make changes. [Politician and has are singular].

@lilangel.

We can use both have as well as has but has been is not correct here. Because with has been we have to use " verb + ing" form. But here "phblished" is use which is nt correct. I think "many times the news has published" is correct.

The news has been publishing makes no sense as the sentence is in passive form not active, so the news has been published is correct.

The use of word (has) is also correct because news is written the same in both singular and plural form.

1. "The" is correct to use here with news.

2. "will" is often used when we talk about ascertain worldly things.

3. We don't publish news. Rather we publish articles in news, so "the news has been published" is okay.

Many times, the news has been published in the papers that the end of the world will be certain if a nuclear war breaks out.

Adding a comma after "Many times" helps improve the readability of the sentence.

'The news' is correct because they talk about a particular news of world's end but how can we use 'the' with papers, when there is no particular paper is defined, say the telegraph or the Hindu.

They published the news many times.
Many times the news has been published(by them).

No mistake :).
It is in passive where by them is ignored :).
