According to me, reason why is correct but the use of because is making it go superfluous in the sentence the use of because must be prohibited while using reason why.

Reason and why can't go together, because they both have the same meaning. So, you either use WHY OR REASON, but definitely not both in a sentence. Eg using affirmative and yes together.
