I think D is the answer as it can be said that.

The reason ram is absent from his duty.
Is because he is unwell.
Hence D is correct.

Well I can be wrong if so please tell me whats the correct explanation.

Reason and why can't go together, because they both have the same meaning. So, you either use WHY OR REASON, but definitely not both in a sentence. Eg using affirmative and yes together.

@All.

According to me, reason why is correct but the use of because is making it go superfluous in the sentence the use of because must be prohibited while using reason why.

"The reason why" is always folowed by "that". Here in sentence 'a' "why" is absent so we have to put" why" in it, but sentence 'c' is also not right as per rule.

Using 'because' after 'reason' is a redundancy error. Hence the correct sentence would be "the reason ram is absent from his duties is that he is unwell".

There are two mistakes in this question firstly it should be 'the reason why ram' and further 'that' should come instead of'because' in sentence C.

Because cannot be used after the word 'reason'. The correct answer is "the reason ram is absent from his duty is that he is unwell".

"Ram is absent from his duty because he is unwell."
This is right ans. otherwise the sentence is becoming redundant.

I think option D is the correct choice as it can be said as an answer to a question asking "Why is Ram absent from his duty?".
