Verbal Ability - Ordering of Sentences - Discussion
In questions below, each passage consist of six sentences. The first and sixth sentence are given in the begining. The middle four sentences in each have been removed and jumbled up. These are labelled as P, Q, R and S. Find out the proper order for the four sentences.
|Smoke oozed up between the planks.
|Passengers were told to be ready to quit the ship.
|The rising gale fanned the smouldering fire.
|Everyone now knew there was fire on board.
|Flames broke out here and there.
|Most people bore the shock bravely.
After the smoke, the flame broke from the wood so first is S.
Then everyone got to know about fire. So second is R.
About this fire, Q is telling that this fire was fanned by the rising gale (means wind) hence third is Q, which should be proceeded by R.
Last must be P this can be confirmed by reading the s6 which is talking about the passengers that is only possible after informing passengers about quitting the ship.
So underline the word between, definitely 'and' will come to next.
