In time study, the rating factor is applied to determine

[A]. standard time of a job [B]. merit rating of the worker [C]. fixation of incentive rate [D]. normal time of a worker

Explanation:

No answer description available for this question.

Arjun said: (Mar 24, 2013) Rating factor is the process during which the time study analyst compares the performance (speed) of the operator observed with the observer's (analyst) own concept of normal performance. This rating factor is then applied to the observed time to obtain the normal time for the job. Answer is "D".

Ravi said: (Aug 6, 2013) @Arjun is right rating factor used to determine the normal time. It is applicable only for human worker.

BSp said: (Oct 4, 2013) Yes @Arjun is right. Normal time = observed time * rating factor.

Raviteja said: (Apr 11, 2014) It depends on time and the worker.

Rahul said: (Jul 11, 2014) Rating factor is use to determine normal time only. It is applied for worker only not for machine.

Sidharth Jain said: (Oct 13, 2014) Rating factor is used for determining normal time, which can be further used to determine standard time, which then is used to fix up the incentives in accordance with the performance of person, so no single option can be chosen.

Arunmishra said: (May 4, 2015) Rating factor is used to determine the normal time. And after adding allowances on normal time we can calculate the standard time. So answer is D.

Raj Kumar Singh said: (May 9, 2016) Answer is D. Since the rating is assessment work rate o f working relative to the observer. Normal time = observed time x rating. So it is used to define Normal time.

Sai said: (Jul 30, 2016) I think answer is the normal time of a work.

Manoj said: (Sep 21, 2016) I agree and the option D is right.

Viral said: (Oct 16, 2016) The right answer is D.

Lucky said: (Nov 2, 2016) Performance Rating can be defined as the procedure in which the time study engineer compares the performance of operator (s) under observation to the Normal Performance and determines a factor called Rating Factor. There are several systems of rating the performance of operator on a job. So, option "D" is perfect.

SANJAY said: (Nov 20, 2016) Then, what is mean by fixation of incentive rate?

Ashu said: (Jun 20, 2017) It not asking about the rating factor it is asking why it is applied what is the outcome after applying so in my view, option C is correct.

Arvind said: (Jun 26, 2017) Since rating factor is used to determine standard time and standard time is used to determine fixation of incentive rate " ultimately so (c) is the correct answer.

Rafi said: (Jul 3, 2017) Answer c is the correct agree@Aravind.

Yogesh said: (Jul 7, 2017) I think C is the correct answer.

Vijay said: (Jul 28, 2017) The Correct answer is C.

Ghanshyam Parmar said: (Aug 19, 2017) The Correct answer is C.

Kuldip Thakkar said: (Sep 1, 2017) The correct answer is c.

Chetan Tadkal said: (Sep 22, 2017) C is correct as per R K Kurmi book.

Rahul said: (Nov 24, 2017) I think D option is correct.

Shivaprasad said: (Sep 25, 2018) C is the correct answer. Ref: R S Khurmi.

Samuel said: (Oct 3, 2018) The answer is a fixation of incentive rate. Ref: S.Chand.

Dhaval Chaudhary said: (Apr 19, 2019) C is correct answer by RS kurmi.

Yeskig said: (Apr 20, 2019) Performance Rating. During the time study, time study engineer carefully observes the performance of the operator. This performance seldom conforms to the exact definition of normal or standard. Therefore, it becomes necessary to apply some 'adjustment' to the mean observed time to arrive at the time that the normal operator would have taken to do that job when working at an average pace. This 'adjustment' is called Performance Rating. Determination of performance rating is an important step in the work measurement procedure. It is based entirely on the experience, training, and judgment of the work-study engineer. It is the step most subjective and therefore is subject to criticism. Performance Rating can be defined as the procedure in which the time study engineer compares the performance of operator (s) under observation to the Normal Performance and determines a factor called Rating Factor.

Jaysukh Viramgami said: (May 17, 2021) Correct Answer is C. Referance R.S Khurmi.
