Statement: Children, who get encouragement, usually perform better. - A note by the Principal to the parents.

Assumptions:

  1. Some parents do not encourage children.
  2. Parents may follow Principal's advice.

Only assumption I is implicit
Only assumption II is implicit
Either I or II is implicit
Neither I nor II is implicit
Both I and II are implicit
Answer: Option

The statement talks of the performance of children who get encouragement. It means that there are some children who are not encouraged. So, I is implicit. Also, the Principal notifies to the parents that encouragement helps children improve their performance, with the hope that they too would encourage their children. So, II is also implicit,

What is the difference between both and either?

We can also answer either for this question right, why is it both?

I think answer would be D Because neither option A could be assumed by the author nor option B.
