In case of (I) all the school in a certain area are closed, the reason may be some disaster or very cold or hot days of year.

In case of (II) many parents withdrawn their children from local schools in which the standards of education is not so good to meet the future requirement of child or there are lack of good teachers in the school.

It is also clear for not relation of two statements are that in (I) all the school and in (II) local schools only.

So, Both the statement are effect of independent cause.

My understanding is that such may not be close just because some parents (not all) withdraw their childs since the structures as well as the teachers are still there and it's not mentioned either the school is private (profit-making) or govt (right of citizens and free in most nations) own as regards to that I conclude by saying statement 2 cannot be the cause of such closure hence option D is my answer.

I. All the schools in the area had to be kept closed for the most part of the week.

II. Many parents have withdrawn their children from the local schools.

Explanation:

I might be the effect of some storm or something, in the AREA, and so all the schools are closed.
II is parents withdrawing children from the LOCAL schools, probably because of low teaching standards.

There is no common ground.

Yes, there is a chance that people might have withdrawn their children because the school was shutdown for a week, but still there would be a reason for the school being shutdown and so that makes it the ultimate reason, for the two events that happened. So even if it is a chain incident the immediate cause for the withdrawal would be the closure of the school.

So I agree with Deepak.

Yes I also agree and there is also a possibility that as both situations have occurred in a particular locality so there can also b a single cause i.e. some terrorism etc in the locality, for both the effects.

At my point, when many of parents withdrawing there student form locals school, that's why the school could not continue there classes so they close there school.

I thik that the correct opition is B.

From my point of view, statement 1 is a cause because the school have been closed most of the time in a week and statement 2 is the effect. So the parents withdrew their children from the school.

Schools are closed and parent's withdrawal is the thing that has to do for something is keep on but here schools are already closed. So both are independent cause & effect.

I feel E should be the answer, as we are talking about a common cause, the words 'in the area' in statement 1 and 'local schools' in statement 2 help us conclude option E.
