Confidence: Working on your action & accepting failure if it comes.

Over-Confidence: Linking yourself with the end result, not the action. Taking the result to your ego.

I will try not to get nose cut from your side questions is confidence.
I will give you nose cut answer to your questions is over confidence.

Eg:

I guess the sentence "I can do it" depicts confidence and the sentence "only I can do it" clearly depicts overconfidence.

Confidence is self-appraisal and completing the given job at your best withing caring about the result.

However, Over confidence is treating yourself as the best without having thorough knowledge about anything and talking irrelevant things.

I think confidence would be to do a task given without hesitation and knowing that you'll complete it. Over-confidence would be when you become too big for your boots, tend to be cocky, rushing into things than getting it all wrong.

Confidence means the person has the detailed knowledge of his work, resulting in that he/she performs successfully. On the other hand, overconfident person doesn't have detailed knowledge of their work but still, the person thinks that he can do it which results he/she fails mostly.
