If you say I can answer, after knowing the question its confidence.

If you say I can answer any question before knowing the question its over confidence.

There is a slightly difference between confidence and overconfidence.

Confidence= I can do it. (reality).
Overconfidence= only I can do it. (illusion).

My confidence will keep being connected to my objective but overconfidence will distract me from that. I will diminish my ability being over confidential.

I can do it - Confidence.
Only I can do it - Overconfidence.

I'm suitable for this job - Confidence.
I'm only one suitable for this job - Overconfidence.

In my opinion, confidence can take you at higher level.

But overconfidence will bring to ground once a time. If we have overconfidence it will spoils us.

Confidence is knowing you studied well and saying you’ll do your best in the exam; overconfidence is saying you’ll top the exam without learning properly.

Difference is just that "over". When there is no ego for achieving and thinking I will and I can do that then it is confidence otherwise over confidence.

IF I say, I can do this work then this is a confidence.

In a particular situation, If I say this work is only done by me then this is an overconfidence.

Confidence means I am able to do this work and If I give my best I can do it but overconfidence means I will do that work and I know everything about it.

Having trust in yourself and your skills is confidence;

Underrating someone who is having more skills and experience than you gives you overconfidence;
